My doodle bites :(

Hi guys! 

I have a Goldendoodle puppy, who's 9 weeks old. His name is Dexter. We just got him (1 week ago) from the best breeder ever. We noticed lately, that Dexter bites all the time. He bites arms, legs, faces, clothes, - everything and everyone. We say "no" to him and give him his toys, but he still bites. We can not come closer to his face because he does not lick.. never... Even when he gets his treat after he does trick - he bites fingers. 

I'm worried. I would like to hear your thoughts and advises. I'm not sure if it's normal. People say their puppies do not bite.

Sounds pretty normal to me.  It takes some patience and consistency to get him over the nipping part.  If you search our forum for "nipping" and search the Puppy Madness group forum archives for "nipping" you'll find TONS of past discussions on this with good advice.  Most likely it will go away with time, but it isn't a bad idea to try to find a good way to respond either.  Dexter is DARLING!

Yes, most puppies will bite until loosing their baby teeth. Join the puppy group because there is a lot of advice and other puppy owners going through the same thing. BTW, your puppy is adorable...I am pretty sure I helped socialize this guy (friends with the breeder). My Milo has the same mom. Welcome to DK.

Thank you so much everyone! I'm so relived! I did not search for older posts before.. Probably I did not think people have same problems :) ! I hope he'll grow through this problem.

Anna, The people that say puppies do not bite, must be drunk and don't remember :) All puppies bite. This is a stage that they all go through...some worse than others. Fudge bit so much in the beginning it was unbelievable. Distract them, put a toy in their mouth, crate them when you have had enough, keep plenty of chew toys around. Bully sticks were my best friend during this stage. Also, sometimes when they are at their worst, they are tired and need a time out. Good luck. It will pass.

Perfect advice from Laurie--I am raising the last two pups from a litter of 9 and they are now 13 weeks old--at 9 weeks they were very nippy (they are not biting--they are trying out their new teeth!) They have learned now not to bite at my clothes, ankles, hands, etc, but are still nippy at times--especially when tired. But they have really improved. Take an obedience class as soon as you can---your puppy is learning fast right now and the sooner you can establish good habits, the better!

Truly, when I first got Luca and hadn't found DK or a trainer I looked like an abused woman from his nipping my arms. You need coping strategies and it does stop.
