Suture Site Reaction - 4 Days Post Spay Surgery?

Lucy's suture site area is swollen and red four days post spay surgery.  Wondering if anyone else has seen a similar type reaction and if it is a reaction to the internal sutures.  Thanks!

I would definitely get that looked at by the vet. I will say the round swelling is normal. Abby had tha circular bump after being spayed a couple weeks ago, but there was no redness or irritation around the incision site. Did the vet give you antibiotics? Abby received a two week supply to prevent any kind of infection.

Pippa hasn't been spayed yet but as a (people) nurse it looks a bit infected to me. Is it warm to the touch? I'd take her back to the vet - especially if she isn't already on oral antibiotics. Good luck!

I think that looks like it is infected and should be checked by the vet. Fudge had a terrible time with her incision. It got infected and leaked a red watery liquid. She had to have her incision wrapped and wear a cone. I am pretty sure they treated her with antibiotics and I had to go back several times to have the vet check the incision.  Good luck and keep us posted.
