Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi - I'm new to Doodle Kisses and have been reading it for the last four weeks!  I love it and have learned so much!  I am getting my new Goldendoodle in three weeks and would like to know if other DK members have had a puppy from the same breeder.  I know you can't post references on the forum and I have gone to "Owner recommended Breeders" with no luck and also tried to see if there is a group but I couldn't find one so where do I tell you the breeder I'm interested in and how do you "friend" me to give me a private message?  I am so excited!  This breeder lives seven hours away from me so all of my correspondance has been through e-mail and she has been fantastic with all of my questions and given me references but I would love any info you all have!  We were going to visit the ranch next week but because of a family emergency we can't go until it's time to get the puppy.  Thanks for any info you can give me!!!!

Yes, you can tell us where you are getting your puppy but we cannot respond on this page. We would need to post on your comment wall or PM you about our experiences or knowledge of the breeder.

Oh, that's good to know - I wasn't sure.  We are getting our puppy from "Daeshar's Designer Doodles" in Deer Park, Wa.

We live in BC, Canada so it's quite a ways from us.  I would love to know if anyone here has had a puppy from Sharon.

Thanks!!!!

Lynda Kamrath does I believe.
I love Sharon. Her stud, Robin is my Milo's daddy. I have had dozens of exchanges with her. I know several owners with her dogs. Come to a romp in Seattle and you'll see at least a dozen.

Robin is the father of my puppy too!  I live a bit too far away to go to a romp in Seattle LOL but I would love to know more about Milo.  I've never had a puppy "picked"  for me before and I'm kind of anxious!  Did you see all of the puppies before you found out Milo was yours?

Also, Wendy, did you find the page on DK about what to look for in a breeder? There is so much useful info there and it will help you to know what questions to ask of your breeder in order to help you determine the quality of her breeding program.

In case you haven't seen it yet here is the link:

I did!  I did a lot of research before getting this puppy but thought this would be a great place to get some input on the puppies besides the ones that the breeder (Sharon) sent me!  I am really impressed with Sharon from all of our discussions and all the questions she has patiently answered for me but would love to hear about actual puppies!! and experiences!!

I'm glad you have found a breeder that you feel confident with! It is so important.  Tara's breeder does temperament/personality testing/matching with her pups so she choose/approved us as a match for Tara. She doesn't allow people to pick a puppy. You can express an interest in a certain puppy but if she decides you are not a match you will not get that one.

Did you express an interest in a particular puppy and was it Tara?  I have never heard of this testing before and in some ways I really like it because I would hate to choose a puppy - they're all so cute and I always feel sorry for the ones left!  But, it seems like such a personal decision to give to someone who really doesn't know me that well!   Is the testing that accurate????

The puppy I was most attracted to was a little one named Trixie. She was just adorable. The breeder tests when the puppies are around 6/7 weeks old or so and Trixie turned out to be a little demon dog! The breeder had intended to keep her for the breeding program but she was not at all people oriented and needed an owner who was very dog savvy to handle her temperament. The breeder selected Tara for us because she was very people oriented and she knew we wanted what she referred to as a "therapy quality" puppy. One that would love people and be suitable for Therapy Dog work. Tara turned out to be the perfect match for us. I wouldn't change a thing about her.

I forgot to say that the breeder asked us a lot of questions about our household, lifestyle, activity level and the type of dog that we wanted-active, mellow, high energy, that sort of thing. Then she matched us up.So, she tried to learn as much as she could about us to help her decide.

Hey,

I'm getting my puppy from Sharon in about two weeks.  How is your new dog?  We were originally part of the Replay litter, but had to make a switch because of timing.  I am REALLY impressed with Sharon and from what I've heard from her past customers, she raises great dogs.
We are excited too, but I wanted to see how your new puppy is doing.
