While this is not officially a recall it is something further to keep an eye on because it is another Diamond product ~  Also have you seen this?  ~  http://www.consumeraffairs.com/pets/natural_balance.html,  If I were feeding ANY product that was manufactured by Diamond I would be evaluating options in order to have a plan B just in case.  I would also not dispose of any packaging in the event you store your food in a container rather than the bag, you may need to reference information from the bag.  I would hate to wonder whether I had 'one of those bags'.

It will be a huge major problem for me if I have to switch Jack, because at this point there is no other option except Rx food.

However, there does not seem to be any evidence here that there is a real tangible problem with the NB foods.

Jack was on Orijen last fall when he suddenly became very sick and was subsequently diagnosed with IBD. Following the logic of some of these complanants, I could blame Jack's Inflammatory Bowel disease on Orijen.

At least 50% of the members of my IBD support group are feeding one of the NB LID formulas. There just are not many choices out there for these dogs other than the Rx garbage. None of the dogs in the group have reported any changes related to food, and these are people who watch what goes in and what goes out like a diamond cutter keeps his eyes on his work, lol.

We will definitely continue to watch Diamond, and I think it is not a bad idea for those who are able to change foods easily to have a back-up plan, but for now I think nobody should be panicking.

Did you see this? Looks like more brands have been added.
I also get notices from TOTW on Facebook. They just posted info about their voluntary recall and info to determine if your bag is on the list.

I saw it a while ago and have been trying to get on line and share but could not connect to the internet on the phone.  So glad you got this here.  List is growing.  Please proceed with caution, save your bags regardless of what you feed and develop a plan B if you do not yet have one.  I hope I am wrong, but I do not think this is over yet.

More recalls out of The Diamond SC plant, this time for Natural Balance. They are voluntarily, but this is bad news, folks, especially for the people whose dogs have GI diseases and are on these foods. There is sheer terror in my IBD support group, and I'm getting a alittle panicky myself.

I came on here to see what you all were oing about this recall. Jack and Molly are on Natural Balance LID potatoe and duck. I know so far it is not recalled but I am creeped out totally. Jack finally is stable on this diet and is eating and pooping great.

I am having my mom hold steady......and just making sure she watches closely ....if I was not in the hospital I may do something different but Jacks intestines are just so finkey.

I am going to keep watching and hope nothing turns up. I ont even know what a plan B would be..it old have to have duck only.......since he has proven to tolerate it so well.

I hate this!

Just in case you need to follow through with a plan B....thought you might like to know that Fromm makes a duck and sweet potato formula.  One of my doodles has a really sensitive stomach and has done very well since we switched to Fromm about 2 years ago.

Here is the most recent recall list (5-6-12) of all of the foods made at the Diamond facility in Gaston SC:

This makes me upset.
