Thoughts and a Question

I took Lan to the park today and she did great.  She was very happy and met lots of dogs, including another Labradoodle who looked nothing like her!  I'm guesssing it wasn't an ALD as it looked completely different, bone structure wasn't even the same, and wasn't at all friendly.  I don't see many labradoodles and it made me realize just how vastly they can differ in appearance and temperment wise.  Also, it was kind of funny because for some odd reason a lot of people ask me if Lan is a standard poodle... I don't even think she looks like a poodle.  Do other labradoodle owners get this question a lot?

Oh, Those are neat looking dogs Karen (the Spinone Italiano & Otterhound)  I enjoyed the Natural Looking Standard Poodles too.  I dont think I have ever seen one Not trimmed-live- not a photo.

 

its funny, Last year when Trixie had Shorter hair a few people guessed right that she was a Goldendoodle.

This Spring with her longer hair.  No one has figured out what she is.  Even the People that knew she was a Goldendoodle last year...forgot.   Like Camilla we have had several ask us if she was a Sheep dog

I have had people insist that Clancy is an Otterhound.  There is something about them that I can't remember what, but it eliminates Clancy.

Um, they are gigantic and they usually weigh well over 100 lbs, might be that.

Don't they usually always have that slight coloring of an airedale too...with the darker body?  Clancy doesn't.

Rooney is often mistaken for a portuguese water dog - with Stuart - everyone can tell he is a doodle - they just aren't sure if he is a Lab or Golden.  He has a distinct golden type body but most people can't get past his face.

Today I was asked if mine were standard poodles, pretty funny since Luca is nowhere near standard poodle size. I also was asked if they were Spinones but mostly I was asked what they were.

I often get asked if Bailey is a Wheaton...Once I was asked if she was a Cock a poo...REALLY a 50lb cockapoo hehe...

 

I do love it when I tell people she is a Goldendoodle and they are not familiar...and I expalin she is half poodle and half golden retrv.....Sometimes I get a very puzzled look...and I have to explain she is half standard poodle...Makes me laugh to see the relief on peoples faces to know that a mini poodle was not breed with a big golden retriever LOL

Yesterday a guy asked me if Milo was the same breed as Al Bundy's dog, a briard! Not even close!

We're often asked if Wally is an Afghan?  Maybe it's his long, blond ear hair -- who knows?  

Once, we were asked if he was a Canoodle?  Go figure!
