Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I've read a variety of published warranties from breeders, as well as forum discussions and guidelines on what to look for and what is good, and what is minimal.
Some of the differences have prompted some questions that I wanted to get input on -
RE HIP DYSPLASIA
Is a warranty that covers severe dysplasia adquate (versus any diagnosed level of hip dysplasia)?
RE SUPPLEMENTS
Is a warranty that requires the use of supplements acceptable?
RE WARRANTY PROVISIONS
Some provide for a replacement without needing to surrender the original puppy/dog, while others have a provision for an option of a monetary reimbursement towards the medical expenses up the original purchase price. Thoughts on pros and cons of each?
Thanks in advance!

Joanne - ha ha... I've been working on some number focussed stuff for work and switched them around in my post... sorry about that.
There is a great breeder in Michigan. I left a message on your page.
Thanks - I've been in touch wtih them already. We are partial to darker colors than her current offerings and upcoming planned litters (we were not interested in a multi gen). I was impressed with that breeder when talking with them - but continued my search based on their upcoming breeding plans.
Completely understand about colors.
Of course, I just have to say this..... I have to.
Temperament and health are the most important ... but by your information and thorough research, I already have a feeling you know that! :)
Maybe that above breeder could recommend someone. I would call her back. She is wonderful, well known in breeding circles, belongs to GANA, and those breeders all share information and know each other. All the GOOD breeders know each other. HINT HINT. She would not lead you in the wrong directions.
Funny you mention the referral between good breeders - that's how I was introduced to the breeder whose contract I'm trying to better understand...
And yes, temperment and heath are foremost. We've really approached our breeder selection with that in mind. And then based on size (and behind that color) of current or upcoming litters - have pursued building relationships to consider getting a puppy.
Who knew this would be this much work! :)

This is going to be your family member. Rarely does someone spend this much time picking out a puppy but in reality, this dog will be with you for many years.
Too bad, most people spend more time picking out a car or a computer than they do a dog.
You are right. I was thinking the same thing.
Colors in a Goldendoodle may be difficult. There is more of a variation in Labradoodles. Here's a few reasons why
-Colors CHANGE
-look in the group ' From Pup to Adult' here on DK. Look at the color changes. Pages and pages of puppies who have changed colors.
-Look at my pup as an example
He was all white when we got him. Then he changed to apricot. Then all white. He does this all the time. But mostly he stays all white. There is no apricot on his face since he was 8 months old.
-most chocolate doodles change to a color called Latte. A light Taupe. Look at Linda, Webber, and Sedas girl. Or the another member GBK.
-I did have a black Goldendoodle I fostered. Completely Black. She changed to silver.
Agreed, and understood.
We are partial to red because it reminds us of the Golden we lost to cancer - she was a darker red color, as far as Goldens go.
We miss her!
We have had a rare problematic doodle breeder on this site. You may want to search the breeder's name you are considering before contacting them
