My pug Ozzy died.

I thought all of you should know that Ozzy died a couple of days ago from cancer.I never saw any signs of it until 4 days before he died.It  was like he got hit by a bus or something.Im still in shock.My family came to stay with me for a few days to help me out.But now they are gone and im sitting here with Dakota and losing my mind.My family told me that i need another dog but I dont know.Im not sure of anything right now.

Jared, I'm so very sorry about your Ozzy.  It is especially difficult when you lose a beloved pet so quickly and unexpectedly.  .  Right now might not be a time to get another dog.  I imagine both you and Dakota are grieving for Ozzy.  You'll know when you are ready to welcome another dog into your life.  I also lost a dog very suddenly a few years ago.  I was devistated and did not want to discuss another dog at that time.  Several months later when my husband mentioned it, I  became more receptive to the idea.  Give yourself the time you need to mourn for your Ozzy.   You and Dakota can comfort one another to get thru this sad time.
