Hi
With all the recent recalls I switched our doodles from TOTW to Acana. With Shiloh's problems lately (waiting on final test results) the vet would like us to feed him can food and of course they want us to feed RX food (no!!). I am searching for a good can food I have used TOTW can food in the past.
I wish Acana/Orijen had can food! Any good suggestions????
Thanks!

I like the Canidae grain free cans. Its one of the cheapest where I live, but good quality. Cooper also likes the Merrick grain free and the Natural Balance (not that she can have any canned food right now because of here possible IBS). We do give her a can of mackerel a week which she loves. You can also give canned salmon, tuna, chicken... as long as its just a topper not a meal replacement you dont have to use dog food
Both Canidae and Natural balance are manufactured by Diamond, though, so Lynn would be just as well off staying with TOTW canned food.
Lynn, the canned foods are not affected by any of the recalls, and are manufactured in different facilities, I believe. That's the reason Champion doesn't make canned foods, they manufacture Orijen and Acana themselves, in their own plant, and canning would require a whole other kind of facility. So you should be fine with TOTW canned food.
But maybe it would be best to wait for the test results before making a decision on foods.
I have been using Wellness Core canned food as a topper lately.
Evanger's makes some good canned foods, too.
But if we're waiting on test results for a possible health issue, I would hold off. It may be that he needs a change in specific nutrients, more or less fiber, fat, etc.
