Willow did surprisingly well on her first vacation.
The hotel was perfect, however she did experience a few moments of EXTREME "Stranger Danger", but for the most part she did well. The stroller was used for downtown adventures, I covered the front with a blanket to give her as much protection as possible, and she was very happy. We went everywhere together, even a few places that dogs were not allowed, but everyone just thought I had a baby with us. Ha...ha!
Last night we had a very loud thunder storm. VERY Loud. Willow remained calm aside from one that shook the house and frightened us all. So, I was very pleased as this was her first. We kept the TV up loud, and played lots of games, used lots of treats. So we made the loud noise from outside kind of fun for her.

I'm very glad to hear that Willow did so well, both on vacation and with the thunder storm!
I am thrilled that Willow did so well.
Hi Patti,
So glad to hear Willow is doing better. Is she on 2 meds now? I'm surprised she will fit in a stroller but what a great idea!
Joey is still doing much better on his medicine. I was just wondering if the problems we are having might be age/development related. Joey is 15 months and his issues really came around the 1-year point. Perhaps these doodles exhibit fear issues often during the 1-2 year time frame. It would be interesting (and comforting) to know that these are temporary concerns and that we can wean them off meds at some point in the future.
Anyway thanks for the update.
Willow started her fear at 4 1/2 months. Even thought she did well on her trip, she is still far from being normal.
I started her on Sertraline yesterday. Did Joey start his fear after he received his one year rabies shot? Or before?
Willow is 18 months now. So, I have been working with her for the last 14 months on this issue. As her Dr. said, it is believed to be genetic. What does not frighten other dogs, bothers our dogs tremendously.
I guess there is hope that they will out grow, I pray for that everyday.
This is great news. I am glad things are going better!
Glad things went well.
Glad it went well!
