Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Sorry for the disgust and heartbreak you will feel when you see these pictures. They were dumped in the Harnett County Animal Shelter, NC. The DRC is pulling them because there is a volunteer that is there Doodle Angel! She will make sure that they will be groomed and vetted.
This is what the parents of pet store and internet sales of doodles look like. I am still ashamed that my Samantha came from a pet store before I was educated. It is our duty to educate the next one that doesn't know about puppy mills so breeder dogs like these 3 will not have a 'job'!
This is what Jacquie wrote on the DRC FB page.
This is so horrifically sad that I am literally in tears.......These girls are 11 years old, have been bred to death and are undoubtedly heartworm positive........ We are quite familiar with the "breeder" who keeps dumping doodles at the Harnett County Shelter.....We have had over 14 doodles in our program from Harnett within the last 2 years and all were dumped there by this same person. It seems this person dumps in 3-4 month increments. That's the cycle and we have been waiting and watching Harnett for months now anticipating the next dump. Every dog we have pulled has been heartworm positive with the exception of the 2 chocolate puppies and the 3 young Aussiedoodle boys we pulled late last year. Every dog needed thousands of dollars in care and every dog needed months of rehabbing in foster care. A small price to pay to save lives....Our concern for these girls is their age in relation to the years they have been living with heartworm. They are most certainly infested, have probably lived their entire lives this way and if that is indeed the case, have more than likely sustained pulmonary damage that will compromise their health and quality of life for the remainder of their years.
I just called the shelter and spoke with Steve Berubi the shelter director and animal control officer. These girls are indeed 11 and yes they were dumped at the shelter by the person formrly operating as "Cape Fear Labradoodles"
One or more of these dogs are probably the parents of: Lacey (Lucy), Ella, Ruby, perhaps Willow, Jenny and Cassidi....
Looks like the one on the left has been shaved
this is a pure bred poodle - even the purebreds are not safe from living a life of hell!
So numbers 15, 16 and 17 will be safe! I will post pictures and keep you updated on how they are doing when I know. Please send prayers, that even though the chances are incredibly infinitesimal that they are not heartworm positive!
To our Angel Volunteer - bless you!!!!
Today's update
there were 4, not 3. The one we thought was shaved is #4!!
2 girls are between 5-7, 1 girl is under 3 and the Chocolate boy is 11. All stink, matted, very sweet, well mannered, a bit shy, but the most incredible news is, are you ready for this??
all 4 heartworm NEGATIVE!!! Can you believe it!!! The groomer says that they are so matted that there was no way for any insect to get to get to their skin! The shelter managersaid that these might have been her personal dogs since they are in the best shape that this woman has ever dumped in their shelter.
I will post pictures as soon as I get them! Thank you all for you prayers and positive thoughts - G-d heard them!!!

In most cases it means private message, which your friends can send to you and vice versa.
In this case, it means puppy mill, though.
Oops, major difference : ) Didn't see the previous reference.
How wonderful.
Fantastic what a great photo, they look already as if they know that life is about to get a whole lot better..
So glad they are heartworm negative. I hope they all find loving homes and thank you to all the wonderful people involved in their rescue.
This is wonderful, thank thank you for all the work you do for these gorgeous dogs. I am sure that some wonderful people will give them homes where they can now live out their lives the way they surely deserve.
Whenever I see things like this, it makes me wonder what Connor's poor parents must've looked like. Based on his dear, sweet heart, I am sure they were wonderful dogs. And they lived this horrific life. What amazes me is these dogs can be rehabbed, love humans after all they have been through. Every time I look at Connor, I am so thankful for Jodi Goldberg. And I am sure more people than can be counted are so grateful to you and the DRC. <3
