I wanted to share a funny story with everyone and I am sure all of you have a funny story to share as well with many more to come. Molly met my parents Shitz-Su (sp?) last Wed. My dad is 89 and my mom is 78, soooooo, I try to make things as stress free as possible when they spend the night. Their 15 year old dog is very spoiled!!!! and somewhat tempermental when you touch her if she is sleeping...snippy. They arrive and Liefje runs in to greet us and all of a sudden she sets eyes on Molly and Molly sets her eyes on Liefje (overweight with a tongue that truthfully the vet said they had never seen before...it sticks out of her mouth because it is app 8 inches long....HUGE)....literally drags the floor now. Molly takes one look and starts screaming at the top of her lungs running off like she saw the Devil himself. My dad who has Parkinsons allmost passes out thinking he stepped on her...my mom doesn't know what to think...and me I am trying to stay calm. Leifje waddling after her at Her Full throttle...a turtle could catch her and Molly racing around like a chicken w/o a head. After only 10 minutes Leifje fell down exhausted and than it was Molly's turn. Molly went over and Leifje freaked out...role reversal. Thank goodness, 20 minutes later they were ok with each other. We all laughed about it afterwards, but during the episode is was a little disconcerting. I have never heard a puppy scream before...really loud! Of course, Molly wanted to play all night and Leifje did not. All the best from Lizette and Molly
That is so funny. I have only once heard a puppy scream and that was when I was a kid our 5 month old Beagle fell down on our stone steps at our cottage.......very pitifull!! :( Each time one of us would talk she would scream louder (don't worry she was fine, but was sore)......definately a sound you never forget!!!
the visual i got on this was great!!! i laughed sooo hard!! thanks for the morning laugh!
and the only time i heard a dog scream was when my son accidentally stepped on tucker's leg...the noise was defining!! we thought his leg was broke....10 minutes later he was back chasing izzy!! and tamara id right in saying it is a sound you will never forget!!
I too had never heard a puppy scream before until last week. I went over to a friend's house to borrow some crockpots for Thanksgiving and I took Ollie along. My friend has a gigantic mastiff mix and for some reason we thought Suki (mastiff mix) and Ollie (14 wk goldendoodle) would like to have a play date in her backyard. We let Ollie stiff around the yard and then brought Suki out. Suki took a step toward Ollie and he let out the most awful screams I have ever heard. Suki is a gentle giant and she just stood next to Ollie while he screamed for about 2 minutes straight. So much for the play date. At the time I felt like a horrible mother. Later in reciting the story to my husband, I sure wish I had it on video. Ollie was very well behaved for the days following the Mastiff incident . . . I'm guessing he was afraid if he acted up, I might feed to him to the mastiff/small horse. LOL. We may try to get them together again, but maybe after Ollie is bigger and has had more exposure to other dogs.
