I found these on the internet and they looked interesting. Especially living in the south with the hot summers...It looks like a good idea..
Anyone have one or knows someone who has tried them?

I haven't seen this but I just watched the video. I think that dogs do fine with room temperature water or you can give them somewhat cooler water. Some dogs have thrown up after ingesting snow or ice cubes, as usual we've had discussions.
I agree with F Parker, ice cold water can cause upset tummies and is not necessary. Water at room temperature (especially when you using A/C) is just fine. Cold water stays cool in a stainless steel bowl for many hours.
I also wonder what this bowl is made of and how safe the material is. I don't use plastic bowls, and this looks like plastic.
The website for this product made me laugh, though. If there as yet remained any doubt in anyone's mind as to how lazy a man can be, here's proof:
“The FroBo” was created after Andrew Lanter’s rescue dog Charlie, a seven year old Chow/Retriever mix, was looking at Lanter strangely during the Super Bowl as he kept going back to the freezer to fill his mug with ice. Andrew looked at his bowl and realized how stale and disgusting his water had gotten. Not only was he ashamed and upset with himself for not staying on top of changing out his water in a routine fashion, he realized his pet needed a safe, non-electrical method of keeping his water fresh and cold.
ROFL! How difficult is it to wipe out a bowl and put fresh water in it a couple of times a day? What is there to "stay on top of"? I really had to laugh at that.
i would be concerned with the materials - i do not use plastic (even bpa free) and the cooling material is a concern
I agree.
Thanks for bringing up such good points..See this is why we have this site....
Thanks again
i dont understand how it keeps the water "clean"
Yeah, how DOES it keep the water clean. I'd like to know about that technology!
I just have to think "does Daisy need this" and most times the answer is no.....this is one of those times, she does fine with room temperature water.
Really, I agree. Who needs more stuff? Besides this time of year we have upstairs, downstairs and on the porch drinking bowls.
I agree with the others-I don't like the plastic and question the need for ice cold water.
Ahh, if you ask a dog, they might say, " Just use the toilet. It keeps the water perfectly cool and is refreshed many times a day"
