Has anyone heard of Dinovite? My mom's friend swears by it for itching but I'm skeptical:

http://www.dinovite.com

Thanks in advance!

And also I was searching around for some nutrition info for my little boy Steve and somehow got here told to go to http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/dinovite because I was needed to defend the proponents of Dinovite.  Hope you don't mind.

I fixed that for you.

Yes... that may be true.  But you are also from Dinovite.  Let me say "Welcome!" to all the new Dinoviters!  Audra, Ted, and Ed.  No problem with being from Dinovite, we welcome your input here.  But don't pretend you are disinterested third parties.  You are not.

Let me start by saying that Dinovite MAY be a fantastic supplement.  So my post that follows has nothing to do with the excellent or poor quality of supplement or even if supplements are needed.   (I happen to believe they usually are not needed.)

Audra said to F:

I recommend before you make any uneducated remarks about nutritional supplements, or food, to actually read about animal nutrition.

I'll put $100 on F in this contest of animal nutrition knowledge.  Who's holding the money?

Audra said to Karen:

Dogs and cats cannot digest corn. (humans actually can't either but we eat it anyway.) Carbohydrates have little to no nutritional value for them...

No one here is defending a corn based diet or low quality pet food.  That said, the above statement and the info that follows it is so full of falsehoods and fearmongering that... you'd think you were selling a solution!  (A solution that would cost on average $50/month +shipping for our two dogs.)

As for Karen, I'll put another $100 on her.  (I get all this money I'm throwing around from not spending $700+ every year on supplements - plus, this is a sure bet so I'll double my money!  YEAHHH!)  Have you seen the research and personal knowledge Karen has shared in the Food Group?  I doubt you took the time to see that before saying

"it sounds like you might benefit from actually learning about animal nutrition, there's more to it than the large pet food corporations. look at how many recalls are going on right now... If you do some research, and really dig into the world of nutrition you could learn a lot that would never even have crossed your mind!"

When you address Karen, you are talking to a person who has done the research you suggest, and much more.  She has done it without bias.  She is not trying to sell anything.  She has shared information and knowledge about what is best for dogs, not what will sustain a business and give her an income and might improve the health of some dogs.

There is no reason to get hostile.

This is true.  But you surely understand that you came here and treated some very knowledgeable people like a bunch of idiots.  And low and behold... YOUR product was the answer.  I noticed that people don't react well to being treated like idiots.

Due to the shortage of robots, some of our workers are human and may react unpredictably when abused.

Adina has a bit of knowledge in this area as well.  She is a Registered Dietitian and has a very good knowledge of animal nutrition as well.  Here is Rosco with our copy of Small Animal Clinical Nutrition.

Rosco is a slow reader and it's a big book... so he has entrusted Adina and I (who have read great hunks of it) to take care of his nutritional needs.  He tries the osmosis approach.  We do our best with the real research.

So... Welcome to Doodle Kisses!  We love good products and good knowledge.  I hope you enjoy your time here.

PS.  Oh one more thing Ted, post some pictures of your labradoodle.  We're suckers for that kind of thing.  :-)

This is a good example of how we need a "LIKE" icon on DK.  I like this response.

Forget the "like" icon Allyson - I want a "LOVE" icon!

Maybe Rosco wanted to read the book because he thought it would be about delicious small animals!

Now that is funny : )

LOL!

I can finally see Roscos thought process clearly:

Small Animals = Squirrels

Nutrition = Eating

"BOCA!!!! COME QUICK!  This is a book about eating squirrels!!!  Mom, Can you read it to us?... can you read it to us?... PLEASE, CAN YOU READ IT TO US?!!!!"

Thank you Becka for that keen insight into our own dog.  :-)

Thank you Clark. And Ted is a Dinovite mole, who would have thunk it?

LOL! This is great, but I should really get back to work. :-)))

Love!!!! Way to go Clark!!!
