Ollie is doing exactly the same things - he looks at us when we tell him off for being on the couch as if we are nutters!!!! Its a chair - of course you sit on it!!!!!! My husband found a website which said that this is the next step in your dog attempting to move up the ranks of the pack.... I am probably a bit soft with him and need to get back into the training to prove my dominance!!!!! AAAaarrgghhhh......lol......

By the way Ollie was neutered very early - we got him at 8 weeks and he had already been done at the breeders so thats no excuse for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys both have male dogs, right? Have they been neutered? Because I'm wondering whether neutering calms them down, or whether it makes a difference. Toby is only 4 months old, so he is still in the original jumping up, mouthing phase. We're hopeful it will pass soon! He's much better than he used to be.
Rosco, as usual, was oblivious to his predicament. He bulldozed around the house as if he had no cone!!! But he did learn to pull on the leash during this time :-( How? Well, because I didn't want him running around freely anytime he went outside for potty it was on leash. Of course, he was clueless to that, so he would run out the door at high speed and I would get pulled along. He was actually really good in his crate and sort of resigned to the matter. But believe me I could not wait to get rid of that cone.
Sandy, we were able to keep the cone on Wilson too at first he just plowed into his kennel and was a little upset not too bad he realized we weren';t going to give up on the use of the cone and he adapted very well He walked in the front way it was funny >
When it came to get the stitches checked out he already had them out he was able to reach!!! can you believe that Yep he did
