Do you realize? What to do? 10,000

As I started writing this there were 9,578 DK members. There may be more as I finish given my typing skills. Somehow with the Olympics starting this gave me some thoughts about what we are going to do to celebrate 10,000 members. I hope it doesn't happen when some folks are off cruising and boozing or snoozing. It needs to be fun and special and heaven forbid not like the fireworks,

or was it confetti,

that we had for 5,000 members, which messed up the site as I recall. Of course, Adina, OFL (Our Fearless Leader), would have to approve and she may already have a spectacle planned. But it seemed to me we need to start thinking now.

Wow....10,000 members!  We definitely need to PARTY!

I'm guessing that Adina and Clark are "cooking something up", but I'm thinking it would be really fun to take a trip down "memory lane" with a recap of some of the DK historic highlights....Smilebox or Video would be great.  There are lots of us who could help out with this.

A celebration, A party - Hurray!  Of course we will need t-shirts or sweatshirts, my vote would be for a sweatshirt jacket '. Maybe with Doodle Kisses and member since_____!  And maybe some of the confetti from above.  Or, if someone is good with photoshop we could have a crowd picture (like the one F posted above) on the back and Doodle Kisses with fireworks on the front.  With jackets on we could all meet in the most centrally located large city - rent an entire hotel - and PARTY!  Now you need to know I am not a super party person, but nevertheless I think it would be great fun.

OMD! 10,000 members!  If you think (on average) of how much we've spent for our doodles and on our doodles...well it just occurred to me that we probably have a GDP bigger than most small countries!! In fact, we've probably kept this country out of a depression ;) Sooo if Laurie's pontoon boat is not available... I think we deserve the White House lawn or the National Mall, at least, for the party!!  Love the idea of giving back to doodles in need, Jane's smile box, and a PARTY!

It would be great fun...and I want to meet the person (I can't remember who now) whose discussion got me to join DK.

It had to do with coming home and finding 2 dogs on the wrong side of the gate covered in crazy glue and what was left of her scrapbooking stuff! That was one of the funniest things I ever read! I said, THIS has to be a great site!
