I have written about the Garden Conservancy before:

I haven't been on any tours lately because of the heat and a lack of nearby gardens I hadn't seen. Today a friend and I crossed the Hudson River into Westchester County, NY. Despite some rain on the way we had good garden viewing weather, not too hot and a bit overcast. True my navigation system led us on a giant loop at one time but we made all 3 gardens listed.
The gardens were all beautiful and interesting. Luckily I was not tempted except for one small part of one garden. To maintain these gardens takes help and money. The second garden, in Cordtland Manor, is listed in a book of great private gardens and is somebody's part time home. But it was not my favorite. That was an old farm, in Bedford Hills, that had about 7 acres landscaped into lots of interconnected gardens.
If you want to see the whole shebang here is the album:

The one thing I coveted was a gorgeous vegetable/flower enclosed garden. The owner, whose hands testified she does a lot of gardening, told us she modeled it after a certain European medieval garden. I could have admired it all day. It had it all color, form, a water feature and gorgeous veggies.

Oh, what a DREAM GARDEN! Can you imagine having a garden THIS gorgeous? I wish.....
It will never happen here.
Absolutely lovely...sigh...
Beautiful !!!!
Beautiful!
Just beautiful F., sounds like the perfect day to me! Have you been to Longwood Gardens? I need to get back there!!
I LOVE Longwood Gardens, one of my favorite places. My mom used to work there back in her younger years when she lived in Kennett.
Marnie, what a great place to go to work every day! I bet your Mom enjoyed her job!
I haven't been to Longwood in some years. It's a long trip from me but it is lovely. I go to the NY Botanical Gardens sometimes and I hope to get there for the Monet's Gardens exhibit. I did visit Monet's actual gardens in Giverny, which was wonderful.
I've GOT to look into the Monet's Garden exhibit, wow! How great that you saw the real thing, it is on my list!
Thanks for taking us on your garden tour, F. Just wonderful.
You are so welcome.
