There was a post not too long ago about the different type of pet bowls being used.  Now there is a safety issue to think about with stainless steel bowls! Always something. Petco issued a warning about some of their stainless steel pet bowls.  In part they warning stated

"Stainless Steel Bowl Notice

Petco has determined that one of its foreign suppliers used stainless steel mistakenly containing small quantities of Cobalt-60 when fabricating certain orders of certain SKUs/models of stainless steel pet food bowls. Cobalt-60 is a radioactive material commonly used in industrial gauging equipment and other uses."

You are welcome Elizabeth and I agree, Petco handled it well.

Thank you for alerting us. I would send a message to all puppy madness members, and post this in puppy madness also in capital letters!!!!!!

Good idea. I think I'm going to put it in the FG Recall section, too.

Just a Doodle Kisses member responsibility and I'll cross-post to Puppy Madness. Thanks for the suggestion.

This is another reason I won't buy the cheaper "generic" versions of Frontline or Heartgard sold at places like Costco or Walmart. They're made in China. I worry enough about using these products, I don't want to have to worry about the Chinese manufacturer accidentally using the wrong chemical or the wrong amount. That could possibly happen with Merial, too, but their track record is awfully good, they've been around a long time, and the European quality control standards are higher than ours.

I do the same thing Karen no generics..I do buy my frontline at Costco though.

As long as it's Merial product in a sealed package, you're fine.

Just unbelievable!!! :(

Can I just puke now? Jack and Molly will be eating off my dinner ware until I get new bowls.....seriously .... Thanks for posting

I just wonder what ELSE was made with the steel that contained Cobalt-60. You know it ended up in other places.

No doubt about it. And if I really want to get paranoid, I can think about what other products this stuff was shipped with, sitting in the same boxes for days or weeks, and what else it was sitting next to on the shelves, emitting low levels of radiation, lol. They did say it poses no health risks, though, so I think I'll go with that, for my own sanity. And I don't even shop at Petco!

My mind is running with this one! OMD! I don't believe for a minute that there are "no health risks" whenever there is radiation involved. The damage is cumulative so every little bit counts! For once I'm glad there is no Petco in my town!
