I debated about whether to add this discussion in the Photography group of here in the Art Cafe. I'm thinking since my photos taken for this class will probably look a little more like "art" (at least I hope they do), it should probably be here. I'm excited about the class. I just finished the first lesson and it's confusing but intriguing at the same time. I'm feeling like a total novice compared to the others in this class who have posted some of their prior work which is amazing. They have big time equipment...I don't. Anyway for me this is all about learning to look at things a little more creatively and having fun. So, here are my first "assignment shots". The instructor will critique them next Monday. Since this is the first lesson, I'm pretty clueless about what she'll be looking for. I'll let you know and add any key "learnings" to this discussion.
This one is actually tree mold that I thought looked pretty neat...

Oh thank you F. I hope I'll keep it up even without the homework "assignments"....famous last words.
All lovely....but the sunflower is very special!
Thanks so much Carol. Actually the rose photo was very boring and the backgrounds clashed (the foliage and the sky). It took a texture to pull it together and save it.
I am just seeing that all this was posted by the end of July. I just love what you did. I thought everything was wonderful Jane. You are really doing a great job!
I'm "knee deep" in the next level Fine Art Photography class, and I'm loving it more and more every day. Here's the bad part....I'm having trouble sleeping because I keep having visions of "subjects"...lovely subjects...passing through my head. I'm with the same instructor, but in this class there are 25 very talented students who are so willing to share. I have four more weeks, and here are some of my first images for the class...
Oh Sue, thank you so much! I've got a ways to go....but I really appreciate the vote of confidence!
Thank you, F!
These are so gorgeous! The one with the tree is just so... wow!
Thanks, Camilla!
