What a story--this is a good example of people who are dog lovers vs. people who are JUST dog owners--very inspiring--and upsetting too! Be warned! BUT it has a happy ending!!

What is the "14 website"? Can you post a link to it?

I can't post a link from my impad but if you click back on the link where the video is you can read the story, as you scroll down you will see in blue the word 14 if you click on that you can read the whole thing unfold.

Tis is where the people who originally found the dog came to for help. At first people thought he was FOS but he and his wife were so persistent even after being called names to rescue this dog. It will suck you in...finally the stupid original owner comes on to try to explain himself...discussion got locked

I did it from my main computer.. It really gets intense and emotional.. Some people are not dog lovers on there as it is a hiking club type thing but this is where the people who originally found the dog went for help...

I figured we doodle lovers would feel that way and I agree whole-heartedly!! Loved karen's point about the dog never leaving his side--good one. And you are right that it is not a totally happy ending...YET! I am hoping it turns out to be.

I can't watch the video in this region : (

People take their dogs hiking 14ers all the time but forget the importance of protecting the dogs feet like their own. It is unbelievably cold and windy up there, that poor dog. It sounds like he might have "tried"to get her rescued but I can't believe he left her at the top. I would have carried my dog as far as possible down, I am sure people on the mountain would have helped if asked. And he didnt go back the next morning? Seriously? People don't realize how intense these hikes are and how long they take and are unprepared all the time. Man, I hope there is more to this story, otherwise this guy is a total jerk to put it nicely.

Totally sad story.... I would do anything humanly possible to not leave my dog on that mountain and if I had to the second I got to a place where I could get help for my dog I would.  This jerk does not deserve the love of a dog and should be banned from owning a dog/pet ever again !!!!  Those people who rescued her deserve her love..not the a-hole that left her there -what a jerk - I hate people like that... he has a lot of nerve to ask for his dog back !!!!

Exactly! And obviously he could have done the exact same thing that young couple did!

He is one big idiot!

Here are some pictures Nicky. Here is the owner's Facebook page if anyone wants to write to him. I sent him a message. :You left your dog to die. Give her to the rescuers."
