I know this has been talked about, I did research but I didn't see too much, which most likely means I am doing something wrong in my research..

I am ordering Jack and Molly clay bowls, I finally had time to catch up on that discussion and do something about it.. but that discussion really got me thinking..

Jack is loaded with toys, He is not a huge destroyer of toys but he plays with them a lot. We throw them to him, he fetches, brings it back etc...

His favorite toys are stuffies. I am now really getting concerned for the repeated exposure to the chemicals that are most likely in the stuffing and even on the surface...

Jack has no less then 60 toys, I kid you not.  I want to get rid of them... All the ones that are painted, all the ones that are not made in the USA etc.

From what I have seen on here in my search, Kong is okay and so is Nylabone. Jack has a little mouth so he is not a big chewer as much a  player.

I was thinking of finding some baby/newborn toys in a baby store and getting them for Jack to play with, or going to a children's consignment shop and looking there.

Those toys have to be safer I am sure right? They are for human infants that put things in their mouth.  I have become serious about getting rid of all unnecessary exposures to chemicals lately. I have seen so much sickness... Of course he will still get his shots and medications but the idea of him sucking on and licking a toy from China is not acceptable anymore.

Anyone have any ideas??? I would rather have six good safe toys then the bins and bins of cute looking but unsafe ones...

I would wory about infants toys since even a small dog could bite pieces off them.

i too would worry about the kids toys too - and alot of them are made in china too

Here is a website that sell organic chemical free dog toys...I'm ordering Mojo some from there.  http://www.simplyfido.com/

I love Lolly Lamb, but she did not fare well with my two dogs :)

Thanks for the tip!  Great products, even found some on Amazon!

All the kid toys at Wal Mart and similar places are made from China.  I'm not sure if there are any stricter guidelines in place, though.  And the ones that are not don't seem like a good fit for most dogs anyway.  If you are concerned about it, I'm sure a handful of pricier toys would keep him just as happy than a boat load of toys.
