I agree absolutely. I make a big batch of liver, chicken and cheese biscuits and double bake them in tiny training size treats They are really easy, freeze well and last for months. They cost a fraction of what you would pay for all that rubbish in the pet stores or the fortune you pay for the good stuff.

Done and Done. Thanks for providing the link. It isn't enough, but it is a beginning. I pretty much don't give my dogs treats - consequently they have sensitive tummies which get upset when they do get them even if they are homemade or 'good for them.'
What makes me totally berserk is that these companies know what is happening to our dogs (and cats too) with their Chinese chicken treats but do nothing about it. This group of FB has sent letters and petitions and nothing has happened! I spoke to the manager at my local Walgreen's who wanted to pull all of it (Milo's, Beggin Strips and their own brand jerky) off the shelves but he is not allowed to. It has to come from corporate.
The people in FB group join the group after they have lost their furkid and are starting to do their research. Sad that it is after their dog has suffered the way they did.
Karen - I totally agree that is all about education but let's face it, rarely to people to their research or all pet stores would not be still selling puppies. It is up to those who are educated to share that information. If Jacquie hadn't so eloquently - WOL!! - told me about the life that Samantha's parents lived who would have educated me. In return, I pay it forward as often as I can. I stop those who are buying the foods in the big stores and share what I have learned from you.
Thank you for this, Adrianne. Signed.
