Toys for destroyers

I picked up two new toys for Bernie this weekend. I feel bad he only has animal "skins" left after destroying all his plush friends, but I've learned my lesson, no more plush until I find something with rave reviews!

One I picked up was Squirrel Dude treat dispenser. It smells good (more for me), it bounces crazy, and the little rubber teeth make it an extra challenge to get food out - which Bern needs!

The other one is from Dura Doggie, we got the pink breast cancer one, but each Beba toy has a connected charity, which is an added bonus. It also smells like cupcake frosting!

If anyone has any additional recommendations for serious destroyers I'm all ears!

The only toy that Darwin has not destroyed is his Kong. We've gotten him so many others, even ones that boast durability but he shreds all of them. Although, we did get him a Nylabone ring (the really hard type) that is doing pretty well. 

 

He also enjoys chewing on antlers and those last him quite a while.

Swayze has an antler and chews on it a little every day. It's lasted forever and he hasn't made a dent in it!

I forgot to mention the Dura Doggie one comes with a 15 day replacement guarantee! 15 days sounds so funny, but as most of us with destroyers know, that's a lifetime! I kept the packaging and receipt just in case =)

Premier makes a good quality toy. My favorite ones though are made by WestPaw. The #1 durable toy is the TUX. Made of patented Zogoflex, the toy can accomodate treats or my guys will get the TUX toys out of the toy box without stuffing. I also like the Westpaw BUMI. It's a great tug toy and more durable than it looks. I sell tons of these at the store where I work and constantly recommend them for doodle sharks They have a one-time replacement guarantee on their toys. :-) Planet Dog also has strong toys rated by the manufacturer on a 1-5 chomper scale with 5 being the strongest. Planet Dog will replace the toy if you're not satisfied. As far as plush toys go, GoDog and Tuffy's make the strongest ones. GoDog has a line of non-stuffed flatties and their toys have chew guard sewn in between the layers of fabric.

If you see bumper toys made with fire hose, I would not recommend these for aggressive chewers. While they seem to be tough as rocks, they aren't. They are made more as a retrieving/training toy than anything that can withstand serious chewing.

Max loves to fetch so most of his toys are rubber squeaky balls or squeaky tennis balls. Good Cuz rubber ball with feet is very durable for him. I think others have had this destroyed by their doods but so far these remain intact except they lose their squeak when left in the pool overnight!! He eventually rips the tennis balls but they hold up fairly well.

I occassionally buy a stuffed toy just to watch him rip it to shreds. He has lots of toy parts he drags out of his toy box to play with. He could care less that he only has Mr. Monkey's arm and DH and I have fun guessing which toy that part might have belonged to :-)

I went with the hard balls with the ropes attached.I threw away the tags or I would tell you who makes them. Shea destroys  everything he plays with.The Kongs       with a hole in them for treats is working at our house too. They are real heavy plastic and sometimes he can figure out if it turns a certain way he gets a treat.I put Beggin Bacon in them and he can smell.They all love it when he gets the treats out. Try them.

Maddie has 4 of these chuck-it balls.  She is a very aggressive chewer but has yet to put a tooth mark in her favorite toy.  I would highly recommend these balls and on another positive note, they do not have that hairy tennis ball coating that wears their teeth down.
