Well, the long wait is over. We went to pick our boy Bailey up yesterday. We left at 9:15 am and got to the breeders house just after 4pm. (we took a few stops for the kids, lunch, etc)
The breeders are really nice. We got to meet Bailey, his mom Chloe and his dad Brody. Brody is a big boy and by the looks of Bailey's paws, he's going to be a big boy too. We got to stay the night at their bed and breakfast and were treated to a wonderful waffle breakfast before embarking on the long drive home. Bailey did really well. He only had one little vomit episode, but I was ready with the bucket and we caught it all. Considering the length of the drive, the new circumstances, and that this was his first time in a vehicle, I think he did amazingly well.
I took him to the vet when we got home. The vet says he's a good healthy boy. He's currently weighing in at 12 lbs. The breeder figures he's going to be 85lbs or more full grown.
Right now he's lying at my feet taking a snooze. Playing and traveling are a lot of work you know!
Here are two pictures of the trip home today. I've posted a whole bunch more on my page in my photos!

Candace ~ What a beautiful boy! Congratulations. Yes, by the looks of those paws, he is going to be a big one!
Love the photos.
Adorable puppy and kids!! Enjoy watching him grow.
Thanks so much! He's an F1. I have pictures of his mom and dad in my photo album on this site. We've really been anticipating his arrival. A house without a dog, for the past 9 months, has been very weird for me. I've had dogs my whole life and losing our last guy, Kirby, was very unexpected and premature. Bailey is so loved already. We've introduced the crate to him today and he's not too sure about it, but has gone in a few times to check it out. Tonight, I'm sure, will be an interesting night. I remember a lot of crying with Kirby. It felt like having a newborn again. I hope this little guy isn't too lonely tonight missing his old pack. I'm going to sleep right beside him, while he's in his crate, so I can let him know he's not alone if he cries. I remember doing that with Kirby as a pup and it worked like a charm. Kirby loved his kennel and used to go into it and close the door with his paw when he wanted to have some alone time. I'm hoping that Bailey takes to it quickly! Wish me luck tonight!
It sounds like you are off to a wonderful start with your guy! I would say just go ahead and feel free to join the "Heavy Weights" Group now because as you say if he grows into those feet he is gonna be a big guy! I think he is adorable. Love that big ole black nose.
Done! I joined the "heavy weights" club. Thanks for the invite! I love his big black nose too. I'm hoping it stays, but who knows how he'll grow. :)
Oh, how sweet.....he is adorable. Good luck and enjoy!
OMD he is very cute...and your kids look so happy!
Congratulations. Looks like this adorable pup is joining one happy family.
