Given the facts that we have birds,  and I am now surrounded by spiders and their webs, and we just had a discussion started on a praying mantis, I decided it was time for insects to have their own ongoing discussion. I just so happened to get a fine spider today.

Please add all interesting specimens . We've had some lovely butterflies and bees I know.

It is and I'm glad to see you're still here Camilla.

As far as spiders go, this is a good looking one.  Nice shot!

I'm not a big fan of insects, but they are interesting when you look closely.

Great photos Jarka. Insects are interesting. I really like that ant shot.

Sorry, Jarka.  I can't look at your spiders but the fly and the ant shots are great.  (Hairy spiders give me the creeps and nightmares.)

I do like that ant picture, Jarka.  The black against the yellow makes those coppery fellows stand out.

Oncopeltus fasciatus

Every Fall I find these bugs on the butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa).

Fabulous photos of beautiful bugs. I'll have to look for them in the garden.

Really pretty bugs.  Now that's a funny sentence.

Funny you should bring this subject  up F.  there is a huge web just outside my front door.  I only saw the spider in there once and her body is about the size of a large asprin.  I am dying to take a picture of the web because when the sun hits it it looks amazing.  The only problem.... if I set up my camera, tripod, macro lense, etc, etc.  it will look like I am stalking my neighbors - LOL.  It will look like I am focusing my camera in their kids bedroom !!!!!   What I need to do is tell them what I am doing FIRST then shot away, my neighbors are great people and we get along great.  It will just look odd because you cannot see the web or spier from the street.  Wish me luck and hopefully I will be posting soon !!!

Good luck. Yesterday I called my neighbor's to ask permission to use their pond for doodle shooting but since they weren't home I told them I was doing it : ) The pond was in full sun and no photos were usable unless you like doodles with their eyes closed. Oh, what lengths we go to. But none of my bug pictures are great because I only have a bitty tripod and I don't even know right now where it is : )

Thanks for the well wishes and I hope my spider shows up soon. BTW... I have a pond and you can bring your doodles down any time No permission needed :)
