We started planning in July of 2011 and the Doodle Cruise was but a dream.  All the days of planning and waiting and finally it was here.  The chance to meet in person some of my DK IDOLS!  From the 1st moment it was truely like we were all old friends - because we really were old friends.  This past week was one I will never forget.  There were tons of laughs, some tears, dancing, way too much eating and drinking.  Doodle talk of course!!!  I am way to tired (and want to spend time with Rooney, Stuart and DH) to go into details - those will all come as people get home but I'll share a few photos with you all.  Oh and of course WE CAN'T TELL EVERYTHING - some things will have to stay on the ship.

Here is Dori and I at Sail Away - the weather is Miami was getting cloudy - great time to leave.

I would go anytime as I am right here in Florida. By Jan/Feb 2014 Lily Grace will be old enough to leave for a week or so. I have only cruised on Carnival and I think they do a wonderful job for the price, especially if you book early. The only thing is the smoke. My DD an I were on the Valor that left Miami September 15th. The coffee shop and other places I would have loved to go to we're so close to the casino and the smell of stale
smoke that I could not be there without actually feeling sick.

I would be looking for someone to share a cabin with.

We will have our own web-site the next go around and will have help matching cabin mates.

I definitely would like to go and would pay more for a smoke free ship. Weather also affects cruising in oct, i would be open to either.

When I found out the boat was a smoking boat, we almost cancelled. I was in a panic, but honestly, it was not that bad and smoke really bothers me. Luckily, no one near me smoked on the balcony and I avoided the smoking areas. Now, with that said, I would like a smoke free boat, too.

Celebrity has LESS smoking - way less, but I know of no major lines that are totally smoke FREE.

The 1 thing about Celebrity is that it is a more dressy line - meaning that they will TURN you away from the dining room if you are not in the proper attire - Carnival is WAY more relaxed in this way.

So it is a trade off.

That is absolutely true.  I would work through Carnival if I had to and hope no one smokes near my room.

The non-smokers could book rooms next to each other.

Jane, I don't know how much more work it would be but maybe we can get a cost comparison. This trip really was very reasonable making it doable for most members, however, if it's not that much more maybe it would be a good option.

All that being said - clearly everyone had a wonderful time no matter the smoking.

I do hate dress codes.

Me, too :)

Make that 3

If they turn you guys away because of your attire, they're missing out on all of the other great reasons to turn you away from the dining room! :)
