Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We started planning in July of 2011 and the Doodle Cruise was but a dream. All the days of planning and waiting and finally it was here. The chance to meet in person some of my DK IDOLS! From the 1st moment it was truely like we were all old friends - because we really were old friends. This past week was one I will never forget. There were tons of laughs, some tears, dancing, way too much eating and drinking. Doodle talk of course!!! I am way to tired (and want to spend time with Rooney, Stuart and DH) to go into details - those will all come as people get home but I'll share a few photos with you all. Oh and of course WE CAN'T TELL EVERYTHING - some things will have to stay on the ship.
Here is Dori and I at Sail Away - the weather is Miami was getting cloudy - great time to leave.

Right, and as much as I love my Doods, I'll admit it was good to totally get away for a week. I knew they were fine and safe at home, and I could completely relax. I can't even imagine how difficult it would be to try to manage them on a ship. I know that would keep Laurie from going....she'd never be able to keep an eye on John AND take care of Fudge and Vern.
I really think a vacation with the doodles would be taxing but on a ship it would be even worse. The only way I'd do it would be if I had an enormous private yacht so I guess that's a no go.
I agree. I love my dogs and worry about them when I am gone, but every now and then I need a break :) I can honestly say I was so busy this cruise, I worried less than on any other vacation.
Yeah if I can leave my toddlers behind and still enjoy myself -- that says a lot =)
I actually stopped two diff couples with kids to find out how it was going. They seemed okay with everything but I think it would NOT have been vacation like at all for me with kids.
Exactly. And clearly the kids did well.
Exactly :) LOL
I feel better now and not quite as jealous since I learned that smoking was allowed on the ship. I forget that other states (and boats) are not California where smoking in public is extremely limited. I HATE smoke.
None of the main cruise lines have gone to smoke free - someday but not yet. Unless you want to be in the casino - it really wasn't an issue for us but the possibility does exist :(
I am VERY smoke-sensitive...to the point where even just stale smoke can cause me to have an asthma attack. The casino was a bit much for me...but I don't gamble, so I mostly stayed out of it. I never smelled ANY smoke in or near our room. Even with the balcony. So, I would say if I can handle it, most people can.
The booking started today - we already have 10 people signed up to go. Do not be left behind this time - all you have to do right now is book, place a small deposit on your cabin and the rest isn't due until July.
We will be having our 2nd Annual Doodle Door Decorating Contest
The 1st Annual Doodle Cabin Crawl (think pub crawl)
Don't be left behind!!!! Come join the fun.
