Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello everyone,

I am fresh meat here but thought this place would probably be best for my question. Before I start let me introduce myself very quick. I have a wonderful black female labradoodle since 6 years she goes by the name Sugar. As my wife and I are very active in our local animal shelter we found a very cute Newfoundland in a very very bad shape several years ago. As I show strong signs of allergies to most dogs it was highly unlikely for us to keep the newfy even though she was the best dog in the world.

Well long story short we kept her, and Sugar and Chloe loved each other until Chloe got bone cancer and recently passed away. Now Sugar is all by herself and not the same happy dog she once was.

Now to my actual question. I wanted to ask you guys the doodle pros where could I find a reputable newfypoo breeder? As mentioned I struggled for years with Chloe living with us so a doodle is really the only dog I can be with. As I love the personality of the poodle and the personality of the newfy as well as the size I would really love to get a newfypoo as an addition to our big family.

Does anyone know of a breeder for newfypoos that is in the USA?

Thanks so much everyone for reading and helping.

Ben

Check the bottom of the home page and see if there is a adoption that you may like.

Hi, Benjamin, welcome to Doodle Kisses. I am sorry for the loss of your Chloe.

The DK Guidelines prohibit anyone from recommending a breeder here in the public forum. People can leave a message on your page or send you a friend request and private message you.

However, in this case, the answer to your question is very simple. There is no reputable breeder breeding this mix, in the U.S. or elsewhere.

Just because some people mix any breed with a poodle and call it a somethingpoo or somethingdoodle, doesn't mean it's a good idea or that it should be done.

Please read What to Look for in a Breeder, it's a good guide for choosing a breeder, and you will not find anyone mixing poodles with Newfoundlands who meets the standards set forth in the article.

Why not get another Labradoodle or Goldendoodle?

I agree with this completely.

Ben, sorry for the loss of  your Chloe. I have not seen a Newfypoo, but know of Bernedoodles (Bernese Mountain Dog x Poodle).

if you are interested in poodle mixes and want to adopt, you could go to petfinder.com and do a search with your zip code for poodles and you will get a listing of all the poodle mixes that are available for adoption in your search area.

Welcome to Doodlekisses!  I am sorry to hear that you lost your sweet dog Chloe.  I also love having two dogs (both mine are goldendoodles), so I understand your wanting to add that second doggy to the family again.  I'm sorry to say I have never heard of that cross.  I had just recently stumbled upon the doodles myself just a couple of years ago.  Maybe your best bet is to get another labradoodle or a goldendoodle.  If someone really does say that they are crossing those 2 dogs, then I would say that your guidelines in looking for a breeder would be the same as what we look for - health testing, temperament, health guarantee, etc.  I just think it'll be hard to find.  Good luck!

Ben, you are absolutely right, there are STILL a lot of people that frown on Labradoodles & Goldendoodles! I've had pure bred Dobermans all my life, & I was frowned on for that as well, cause of their reputation 50 years ago! People see my Wheeler, Goldendoodle & think he is some freak(he's probably the cutest they ever seen though). Anyway, back to Newfypoos, or Newdles. A while back, we were looking to adopt a Newfoundland/Poodle mix from the DRC, unfortunately we were super heart broken when she went to another family, but also understood her wonderful foster mom was overwhelmed with applications for that beautiful baby & it was very hard for her to have to pick just 1 family! My husband jumped the gun behind my back, to surprise me, he started looking for one. Long & behold, I new we were getting a puppy around my bday & I new it was a male & brown, when we picked up our precious Wicket at the airport, there he was, a Newfoundland/Poodle mix! As much of a wonderful, gentle, loving soul this little guy is, he didn't have any health testing done. Granted, I would NEVER, give him up for anything now, & my husby now understands the importance in health testing! And, I'm very thankful that my Wicket is a healthy little ball of love! My profile pic is of my two loves, Wheeler & Wicket, I will have to take new pics of them, cause Wicket growing like a weed! Did my husby do wrong? Yes & no, but like I said, Wicket & Wheeler may be considered weird to some, but they are my weird & I love them both!

Lora, this post is in violation of the DK guidelines. You cannot offer puppies for sale here in in the main forum.

There is a little " x" at the right hand corner of your post. Just click that.
