Hey there! Bella Kai started limping last night, we played ball outside and then about 20 minutes later after coming in she was limping on her back leg. I squeezed every part of it and her feet and toes but she never winced or cried.
Should I be worried that she is still limping this morning? Mainly after she gets up. She still wants to play and run and jump but it is clear something is not right.
Would you go the vet? What should I do? I want to have her rest but there is no way we are gonna get through this day without some exercise, it is 8:30 and I can barely get through this email because she has a ball in her mouth and is ready to go! ;)
Thanks doodle lovers :)

If you have carefully examined her paws and there is no injury to the pads, nothing in between the pads or anything else that you can see, I would take her to the vet to be on the safe side. A limp that lasts this long is indicative of an injury. She may have just pulled a muscle or strained something, and they may just recommend rest, but I'd have her looked at for peace of mind. Hope it's nothing.
thank you for the advice. she is going into the vet tomorrow.
I agree with Karen. If you have checked her over and find no signs of injury or irritation to her feet than I would take her in for a vet check. If she has an injury it could become worse if she continues to exercise. Hope it is something minor! Let us know!
Thank you. I will let you all know. I made a vet appt, she is still limping. :(
Wondering how she is now. Has the limp gone away?
Limp is still here :-/ I made a vet appt for tomorrow morning. Just need to keep her from running and jumping the rest of the day.
Glad you're going to the Vet....hopefully it's nothing serious.
Even when Lucy had her torn CCL and was limping and holding her leg up off the floor, you couldn't get her to whimper or anything when you manipulated the leg.
We are taking her to the vet tomorrow, I hope that it is not anything torn. what was the torn CCL process like and how did Lucy tear it?
We aren't sure how she tore it, but the two girls play really hard, running into each other and bowling each other over a lot. It could have even been a gradual thing, who knows. Anyway, the surgery is a long process. Her surgery was July 17th and she just in this last week was allowed outside off leash for the first time. It is about a 3 month process. Hopefully you just have a little pulled muscle or something simple and she will be fine real soon. Never hurts to let the Vet take a look though.
My Rio did this a few times when he was between one and one and one half--he would apparently pull a muscle in his shoulder and then would limp. Vet could find nothing wrong and we put him on Rimadyl for pain--after a few days, he would be fine.
I hope this is the case. Glad to hear Rio was ok! The Dr scared me on the phone talking about ACL tears and surgery and now I am just gonna have to worry till her appt tomorrow morning.
