Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

With the holidays approaching I am looking for non-destructable chew toys (or toys to play with) for my mouthy doodle.

My doodle guy loves toys but they are destroyed within minutes and the squeakers and everything else in his tummy.  I seem to be limited to an indestructable Kong which has been through 3 German shepherds and still remains in tact.  He does like antlers and that has worked but even the other toys with ropes attached are shredded.

My last dog was an English Setter and he was so careful with his toys which he would carry around and he would even use the larger ones for a pillow.

I just bought one of those and had to give it away.  Sad.  We ordered the 4.5" ball and Spud strained to get the ball in his whole mouth. I just knew he was going to dislocat the jaw.

I caution this particular recommendation because the title to this discussion is CHEW TOYS  and Jolly Balls are more of a toy but not for chewing.  I do though, Love the Jolly Ball products.  If you need a chew get some Antlers.  As for toys, search under HORSE TOYS.  They are pretty tough

We have had this ball~ made for horses for almost a year.  PERFECT

guess I was getting a little bored with the antlers and stuffing kong and wanted a toy kind of thing too, as well as a chew--the yaks look good.

I see what you mean with the ball--looks really good though

that 10" horse ball looks big---how much does your dog weigh?  can't believe how much he looks like mine.

My dog is a medium.  He is full-grown and now weighs in at 58lbs.  He is 24" at the withers.

Let me try and find a picture of him using this blue ball. BRB

As you can see, this ball has really taken a beating.  It is a favorite.  I'll keep looking to find a picture of him with the ball.  It is not fun to throw for him, but he does beat it up, carrying it around, growls ( he is noisy and talks a lot to his toys)

Mine weighs 10 pounds more--68--so guess he could handle it

I noticed the weight and was wondering--looks like he loves it!

Yes, he could easily. Not the best photos but I did just go outside and take a few shots. It is almost dark but you can at least see size.

The ball re-inflates when punctured.  Spud does not always use the handle.

Oh I love that picture, he really loves it doesn't he.

Good point about wanting a chew toy; to be a bit more specific, Stanlee's has heavy duty rope thru it and he uses that part for chewing.  I guess I would categorize this in both chew toy AND fetch/play toy.  We have the 8" ball so it's a bit too big for his mouth and he knows it as he has never tried to grab the ball with his mouth.  It's good to hear other products by this company are as highly praised.

Eight sounds great.  I was so sad I had to give the one I bought away after only one hour.  Definitely will try.

I have had problems with the ropes when he gets a hold of them and shreds--and they break off in pieces--the ropes keep getting shorter and shorter

Love West Paw for my power chewers. http://www.westpawdesign.com/catalog/dogs/dog-toys. Have not gotten the Himalayan chews yet. May think about but waiting to see if anyone has had a dog w a tummy problem with them

Seems like I have seen those before--which ones do you have and for what size dog.
