Central Virginia dog events
I wanted to repost this here because I think they offer different ideas on things to with our doodles. I don't believe all of the links translated so if you are interested I will forward the actual e-mail to you if you need it.
1. History Hounds at the Valentine Richmond History Center

2. Fidos After 5 at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden (August 14th)
This event coincides with Lewis Ginter Botantical Garden's Flowers After 5 featuring wine-tasting, live jazz, dinning and shopping. more »
3. Bark in the Park at the Diamond (August 16th)
Take your dog out to the ballgame at the Diamond and bark for our Richmond Braves. Participate in the pre-game doggie contests and parade on the field. Then enjoy the rest of the game with your pooch from the special canine sections. more »
4. Dog Days of Summer at Stony Point (Saturdays July 5 - 26)
Every Saturday in July, Stony Point Fashion Park hosts a series of dog-friendly events featuring a doggie pool party, contests, giveaways, dog agility demonstrations and more. more »
5. Art Works Dog Days of Summer and Hot Cats (August 22nd)
Art Works and the Richmond SPCA partner to present a fun canine/feline art show and fundraiser at The Planet. 15% of all art sales will be donated to the animals in the care of the Richmond SPCA. more »
6. The Soundtrack of Your Summer Tour (August 3)
What promises to be one of the hottest tours this summer is coming to Historic Shockoe Bottom! The Soundtrack of Your Summer Tour features live music from pop/rock band "Boys Like Girls", multi-platinum selling punk/rock band "Good Charlotte", up and coming "Metro Station" and "The Maine". 7. 25th Anniversary Carytown Watermelon Festival (August 10th)
Over 100,000 people and their dogs attend this one day event that focuses on family fun, being seen and of course the mile of style known as Carytown. more »
8. Richmond SPCA Night at the Richmond Kickers (July 19th)
Join the Richmond SPCA and the Richmond Kickers for soccer and family fun! A Richmond SPCA VIP tent will be set up with food and drinks, and VIP ticketholders can bring their pets and be eligible to win prizes from PETCO and Car Pool. more »

you have lots of things to do with dogs in richmond. saturday here in bedford,va. the peaks of otter winery is having a horse & hound festival. i am taking my dogs. you even have outdoor eateries!
