It is December all of a sudden. We had lovely images for November. Now I think a year end round up of good ideas would be perfect. Some of the topics, like shooting in the dark don't appeal much to some of us, like me. I need to see where I'm going and at night I don't need a camera to complicate my progress. But I would love to see what you all might do. Others ideas take talent and inspiration of a different sort like the suggestion that we do our on take on an iconic photo. I might decide to wear a white swirly dress and stand on a subway grate--yeah, right. Anyone old enough to remember this Marilyn Monroe photo?
And then we had the suggestion of odd numbers. Things naturally occurring or posed in groups of thee, five, etc. So go for it. Happy Holidays all and a healthy, happy New Year. Here is the summary.

Thank you F, for having organized this group and always being on top of the assignments. We all appreciate it!
It is my pleasure.
Composition of Three-Odd Numbers
Yesterday, I watched as this young couple was playing outside a gas station in the suburbs ( rare-almost never in our area accept for Kent State University which is 40 miles away) when an older man pumping gas took notice, went to his trunk and pulled out his own guitar and asked if he could join him. The older gentleman, once famous, from the group the Measles, Glass Harp, The James Gang -from Joe Walsh Fame, the Eagles. I don't think this young man knew who this accomplished musician was and probably, you don't either :) Lisa may remember so I'll just place the photo here. Joe Walsh and the Measles
I just liked the random capture.
I am almost positive the older gentleman does not live around here anymore. Up close, the clothing, dress, and his voice just did not match the area. Maybe home for the Holidays, was my impression
Joanne, we did not come to OH until 1992 so not familiar.
What an interesting Trio they made, was this in the Portage Lakes area?
Lisa, back in the 60s and 70s KSU was a mecca for accomplished musicians. They are still there, only under the wire. No one bothers them there. Kent is an eclectic mix of old scholars, young students, muscians. I love Kent for this reason. Age never matters. Everything blends. Very artistic community. The new students are clueless as to who these people were.are. And, a few famous musicians live in our area and raise their children because this is a normal life without being noticed here rather than LA or NYC. More than we know. One of the Eagles sent their kids to Lake Schools out in Green a few years back. Mothersbaugh, is another example.
Look real close though, the older man's hat matches his suit coat. He is well-dressed and polished only it looks casual :) And who wears cowboy hats and boots here in NE OHIO? Not many.
J is it Joe Walsh that you think is in this picture? Here is an interesting Wikipedia article. And another biographical blurb. Married for the 5th time--uhoh
No, this is not Joe. Just one of the many who work with him in other bands. I have not looked into who this actually was. He told me, but Spud, was not being Nice at all and I soon left a few dollars in the young man's guitar case and went on my way. I have always known many of these LA musicians live and jam around the area because it is a safe place to raise their children, stay unnoticed, and still have fun.
Who can afford to have the hat match the suit coat? :)
Joanne, is it Bob Webb?
It kind of reminds me of him in this photo, taken a long time ago! Bob is the one on the left in the front row:
I thought it looked like his more recent photos too.
It does! Could be. Great call. I'm going to go look him up some more
Love it, way to observe. It makes me want to pay more attention in my town and see what happens. :-)
Great capture Joann. I love The Eagles, feathered and musical. Thanks for grounding us back to the assignment : ).
