JD's nose also turned brown somewhere between 14-18 months, but he has very black lips that stayed black. His nose also gets lighter and more rose colored in cold weather.

Staining- ours comes and goes.  They get wet-mouthed a lot and it promotes the stained mouths.  HARMLESS and no big deal.  Here is a real bad one. Not the best photo but you get the idea

We were told and in fact it seems to work that filtered water tends to reduce staining. We give our guys filtered water. They still stain but not nearly as much.

Luna has "snow nose" - and since we have about 6 months of really cold weather here her nose actually spends most of its time being pinkish brown.  There are only about 2 months in the Summer when her nose returns to being its "natural" black colour.

Perfect example J & Luna

Gavin's nose was black for the first year, but lightened up and although it gets a little darker over the summer, it has never gone back to black.  Now it is kind of a "nude" colour.
