Heartworm med timing

Hey all, do you give the heartworm med every four weeks or every whatever of every month (every 12th in my case, which could be more than four weeks)?

I do it on the day of the month, i.e. every 12th. It's meant to be given once a month and whe you buy a year's supply, the package contains 12 doses. If you give it every 4 weeks, the dog would get 13 doses a year.

Thanks Karen, that is what I was doing before, but then I thought about it and wanted to make sure I was giving the right amount!
