Chloe keeps getting sick even after multiple rounds of two different medications for protoza and parasites.  These are clearly not the issue and I don't know what to do.  I am overwhelmed and on my own with this.  I did not expect to have the issues with my eye sight that I am facing...I have another major surgery tomorrow to try to regain some vision in my right eye and my left isnt all the great still : (  Chloe being sick it awful.  I feel terrible for her and with what I am facing myself I am realizing i am not financially, emotionally or physically able to meet her needs.  The vet wants me to try her on a bland diet for a week then try various foods with alternative protien sources.  I don''t know what to do,  She is having diareahha and throwing up and I can't keep up with the mess.  I am also not going to be able to afford higher end food or extensive testing : (  With surgery tomorrow this is even harder.  It breaks my heart but it is time to think about rehoming Chloe if I am going to be fair to her : (  If anyone has any ideas please let me know.  If not, maybe this would be a good "community" to find her a family where she can get the care she deserves.

"When it rains, it pours!" This is a tough spot to be in. I wonder if you could consider a temporary arrangement-- sometimes good breeders will offer to help take care of a puppy if you are going through an acute rough period with no other options.

I'm sorry about all this stuff going on.  If your pup is from a good and responsible breeder, that breeder should be willing to help with the rehoming or possibly take the pup back.  If that isn't an option, then contacting a doodle rescue organization with someone near you who can foster the dog would be the next best step.  Doodle Rescue Collective and IDOGare both good places to contact.  Of course it's hard on rescue to have to find the money for treatment as well so I don't know what they are capable of helping with in the meantime.  But might as well contact them if your puppy's breeder flakes out.   I would NOT rehome her via the newspaper or such because most people looking there are looking for 'deals' and don't want a dog with issues and medical costs starting immediately.  Best of luck to you and your pup.

My heart goes out to you Rose...when I brought Mojo home at 8 weeks old I had a similar situation. He was fine the first 2 days than got a very bad case of diarrhea, I couldn't start the training I planned and he saw the vet 3 times in 3 weeks and much testing. I wound up getting a kidney stone and it was agony caring for him, I had crawl at times because I couldn't walk and had out patient surgery, lucky I had a bit of help and it made all the difference. Mojo did get over the diarrhea it was a food issue. I did think of re-homing him and spoke to my breeder, she said she would take him back. I never had to do it but it was calming to know I had the option. Perhaps as suggested you can get temporary help and maybe also help with the vet costs. I wish you and Chloe the best whatever happens.

I'm so sorry that you are going through this difficulty. I would suggest you look at the groups on this site to see if there is a group dedicated to the area you live in. If so you could post the situation there and maybe a member close by would be willing to help. All of us on DK want the best for these wonderful dogs. Best of luck!

im sorry :(

Have you tired other foods?  Cocoa was very sick when I first got her and after 2 months of diarrhea we swapped her from a Chicken based food to a Fish one.

Hi Rose ~ I have not been on the sight for a few days and I just saw your post.  I am so sorry you are having so many issues and you are not feeling well on top of all that.  Have you contacted your breeder?  I would think the breeder would take her back and find her a forever home.  She looks like such a sweety.  Is she being treated for Giardia, or ??  I also live in eastern Washington too and I know Giardia is not common on this side of the mountains and sometimes the vets over here miss it because they have such few cases.  Could it be she has giardia?

Do you have any family there that can help you out temporarily?  I think there is someone in Spokane affiliated with Doodle Rescue, please reach out to them.

Keep us posted.

Rose, Please do not post sweet Chloe on Craigslist or in the newspaper. She could end up in some very bad place. Shame on your breeder for suggesting such a thing.  There have been some very kind offers posted here in this discussion. If they don't work out, contact one of the rescue agencies that Adina linked for you. They will foster Chloe and screen all applicants and find her the best home possible. I am so sorry all this stuff ganged up on you. I wish you all the best. Please keep us updated.

Your breeder is a piece of crap to say that to you! I am so sorry! That is aweful! Please don't do that. Craigslist is aweful! Please contact DRC or Idog like Adina suggested...prayers for you to feel better

That would be a sign of a bad breeder! Please, please, please if you cannot find good temporary arrangements with someone you trust and know, contact the Doodle Rescue Collective.

I am so sorry this is happening to you.  If you cannot find anyone in your area, I would be willing to foster Chloe for a couple months for you.  I know you are not ready to give her up.  Please e-mail me.

Kirby had several issues when she was young until I began using probiotics with her food.  That has helped tremendously!   How old is Chloe?  Are you still giving her puppy food?   I had to take Kirby off puppy food early because it was too rich for her.   I tried various diets, raw food diets, etc, but the one that works for us is good old chicken and rice.  I cook up ground chicken and white rice, mix it together, and add it to her  high quality kibble.  The rice will really help settle her stomache too.

I know it looks hopelessly bad right now, but things will get better.  Best of luck with your surgery.  Maybe a dog walker could come in and help you once or twice a day for the immediate future.  Let us know what happens.
