Tucker is a 3 month old F1 labradoodle and his coat has always been straight, though a couple of his brothers and sisters in the litter had wavy hair. I've heard of their fur changing over time, but the beauty of it is that you never know what you're gonna get :)
He probably will never be curly but he could still get a few waves and be 'shaggy.' Can you post a photo of his face from the front? Sometimes we can make a guess based on the hairs on his face and how long they seem to be at this stage. Also you can put a photo DIRECTLY here where your post is (instead of an attachment to click on) by clicking on the little photo icon above where you type your post...it's the second one right after the one called "LINK" and then selecting the photo that way.
Daisy was basically straight/wavey but got curly.
What did Daisy look like? Post please! Somehow I can't believe it! :-D
Until Finnley got her first real haircut in November, for Thanksgiving she was kind of soft but dry, frizzy, straight looking. Now she is soft and wavey/curly at 7 months. She also used to shed, just a bit, not anymore !
I have posted this before when others have asked this question--I can not guarantee that this is going to be true for you pup, but look how much this pup changed from the age of 8 weeks to one year. This is one of my dog's babies that I raised --if your pup has some waves on the ears and neck, this may be the final appearance. And she is pretty darn cute!!
Our puppy at 14 weeks was just wavy - now at almost 20 weeks she is really quite curly. My understanding though is that when pups they have a puppy coat and then it changes. There are also 3 different coats:
Hair: Which tends to shed and can vary from thin short wiry to long combination.
Fleece: Light and silky like an Angora Goat - almost straight wavy to an obviously waved coat
Wool: Denser fleece like lambs wool
We apparently have the fleece type. Pull the fur back and see what it is like down close to the skin - this was where we could really see her waves developing.
But you know no matter what you have - you will love them :)
We got Meg as a rescue so we don't know what she looked like as a baby, but she is 7 months old now and in the last few weeks I have noticed her hair has grown a bit longer, thicker and shaggier looking, her thighs have long wiry hairs and her beard is getting more pronounced. We have no idea what she will end up looking like but I have come to accept that is part of the fun...we expect we don't know what we got. She is an F1 labradoodle. Here she is at five months and then I will post one from two weeks ago. I might imagine the changes but the feel of her is so much different as well.
Oh em gee! What a beauty!
Judy, Meg really is getting fluffier! They change so much in the first year. I love her facial finishings. Such a cutie.
