I'm trying my best to get into the holiday spirit.  This morning we have a dusting of snow and it isn't 60 degrees in December in Ohio so that was a start.  This morning I was taking some photos of the girls with all of the doodle cards that they have received.  That reminded me of a funny story from when I was wrapping presents the other day so I thought I would share both with the hope that others might join in and share theirs.  Maybe then I can find some holiday spirit.

On Wednesday I was in what I call Emma's room which becomes Christmas central this time of year and is where I toss all the presents as I buy them.  Emma is our Great Niece and unless she is at the house that door stays closed and the dogs aren't allowed in there.  That makes Lucy a little sad because that is the only bed in the house that she will fit under and Lucy loves to be under anything.  When I finished wrapping all the presents I closed the door and went and sat down on the Sofa.  I've been struggling with a cold all week so I was feeling pretty tired at that point.  All of a sudden I heard the faintest "woof" and Sophie jumped up and ran to the door of Emma's room.  I didn't remember either of the dogs coming into the room when I was wrapping, but went to check for the "woof".  Opened the door and called to Lucy and got no response.  I then went and checked the rest of the house and could not find her anywhere.  So, I knew she had to be under the bed.  I went back in and looked and sure enough, there she was.  Unfortunately she had gotten under there in between a couple boxes and couldn't get out.  She can just barely fit under there and she can only move forward once she is under ... there is no backing up!  As soon as I moved one of the boxes that was in front of her she crawled the rest of the way out.   It was so funny seeing her under there looking like "ok, what do I do now!  I really don't mind being here, but at some point I have to get out"!

So, share a photo of how you displayed your doodle cards or share a funny story with me!

Merry Christmas!

I didn't do the doodle card exchange but I sure did enjoy your story of silly Lucy. What a cutie pie!

Thanks Sherri!  Merry Christmas.

Here is my Doodle Office Door.  I hope you get into the holiday spirit soon.  I have been a little ho hum myself but am hoping if I can make it through this day at work all will be better.  Hugs to the girls.

Oh, and here is a story for you!  Murphy rings potty bells to go out.  He almost never has to go out after "last call" but sometimes will ring the bell to let us know that Wilson has to go out (poor Wilson never got the hang of the bells, he just tells The Murph).  So the other night I woke up a 2 a.m. to the bells ringing.  Just ever so slightly he was ringing them.  I looked and Wilson was still upstairs asleep so I ignored Murph's ringing.  He gave me a few minutes and rang again.  Ignored.  Few more minutes and then he started really ringing them loud and consistent.  So I get up feeling like a bad mommy just knowing he has an upset stomach or something.  Ran down the stairs and what did I find?  Murphy sitting by the back door...with his frisbee in his mouth. At 2 in the morning!!!

Well at least I'm now laughing ... sorry that it was at your expense!  Too funny.

LOL, Ronna! Hard to be mad at them when you're laughing!

HA!!! That is why I do not use the bells! My dogs would do that for sure!

Glad you found Lucy!!  I'm reminded of a funny story - not Christmas related, not doodle related, but funny nonetheless.  Awhile back, while in his den, my husband and I heard a chirping, sounding like a bird in distress.  He searched high and low - nothing.  Finally, fearing that a bird had somehow gotten trapped under the house (some of the vent screens were not completely attached), he ventured into the crawlspace beneath the house, finding nothing.  Turned out it was the smoke alarm in the den, signaling low battery!!!

Oh, I hate those smoke detector chirp

My elderly dad had the same problem--he was looking for a cricket for weeks until I came to visit and told him it was the smoke alarm!

Poor Lucy, I think it may be awhile before she goes under the bed again, lol!

I am not participating in the card exchange, although I have gotten a number of cards from my DK friends anyway. Not enough for a display, but they are on my fireplace mantle where they are admired and appreciated.

Here's the best I can do for a funny story, although it's not exactly a Christmas story....more of a Mayan story, lol.

Yesterday I bought some holiday-decorated cupcakes at the bakery. When my grandson came in from school, he saw them on the counter and burst into song. "Cupcakes, gonna have cupcakes, I get to have cupcakes, for the end of the world!"

Maybe you had to be there, but it was pretty funny!

Merry Christmas!

I love this story.  Cupcakes are my guilty pleasure!  I love them.  They normally involve a cupcake coma whenever I get them because I can't eat just one.  If I had truly thought the world was going to end I would have been eating cupcakes yesterday as well!  What a creative little guy you have there.  They must have been discussing that at school yesterday!
