Does anyone know of a good groomer in the Fredericksburg, Virginia or Southern Maryland area? My little doodle has been groomed three times. They just don't get that she is not to be cut like a poodle. Thanks!

I have a great article on Doodle grooming with pictures and what size blades to use and all, when I get home this evening I will post it on here for you. It has helped my groomer a lot.

Here is what I gave to my groomer to help her get Cooper groomed the way we wanted.
Hope it helps you out.
This is great ! I printed it out to use as a guide. Thanks for posting it !
Thanks for this great tip sheet! I took my 4 month old Kona in for the first time for just a bath and blow dry. I specifically told them not to cut any of his hair to change his funny doodle face. He said he would only trim a little hair around his eye so he could see, but nothing else. When I picked him up, I was soooo sad to see my cute little clown with a completly shaved nose all the way from the forehead down to his nose. And cut his muzzle hair in a square box like a close cut schnauzer.
I don't know how I could have been more clear, but I'll be taking photos in from now on to make sure they understand.
I've taken my 9 mo old male to For Pet's Sake in Alexandria, and have Lux groom him. She was recommended to me, and must have done doodles a lot because she does much of what is in the article posted by Cooper & Haroletta. We've only had him there twice, and will again once it's warmer.
I too am looking for a good groomer in NOVA area. I found this thread in another group. http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/novadoodles/forum/topics/great-gr...

I just called and they sounded very knowledgeable with many doodle grooming options plus a calender plan that gives a small discount for scheduled visits. They are located in Sterling VA off route 7 and Countryside Blvd.
