Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Well - it has been over a year since the first post - thought I'd give you all an update. Dh is still without work and we are starting to consider him "retired". His info is out there but unless someone comes calling we are stopping the search ourselves. He had two really great phone interviews with headhunters this week about two separate positions. They both loved him - only took 6 hrs for the 1st to call back with "the company says they want a younger CEO" and the second called back a few days later with "they won't chance you leaving - you're too over qualified". Doesn't surprise me - but really - 59 is too old for a CEO? What about experience? Maturity? Their loss!!!!
So life will go on but in ways we might not have expected. We are buying a lot in Punta Gorda on a canal - so that we can build a place and live the boating lifestyle. We'll be able to have a fenced in yard for Rooney and Stuart so I'm very excited by that!!!!! There are a couple of Churches in P.G. that I want to check out - so new things will come once this house sells. THANK YOU ALL for your continued prayers!!! Have a wonderful weekend. Jane
Could we ask for some extra prayer? DH is flying to Houston on 3/22 for an interview!!!! It is kinda a long shot but we would be so grateful for anything! Thanks.
Hi all - just a small request - could you add DH and I to your prayer request. I so believe in the power of prayer and the more the better! My dh lost his job about 3-4 weeks ago and I'm trying to look at it as divine intervention. His job had us living apart for the better part of the last 4-5 years and the stress had me worried about his health. We are so much better off than most so I remain very grateful for what we have - health, our family, friends and of course the "boys" - Rooney, Stuart and our kitty. I'm thinking this is a great way to get me and the boys out of Florida, away from the those gators - lol and into a yard with a fence!
At my dh's level (Sr. V.P. or CEO) jobs aren't something that you can find for yourself - they have to come looking for you - so he continues to network with headhunting companies and past associates. It seems that there are many of us on DK in the "un-employment" phase - please remember all of them too. Thanks so much! Jane

Jane, I was so hoping he had a job by now. I know this has to be a very tough time for all of you and I wish you the best. I will keep you in my prayers. With your great organizational skills, anyone would be lucky to hire you.
Jane, I just saw this. Been there and so have too many of my friends. God works in many ways so I'm sending prayers too...praying that this turns into a blessing. God does take care of us in ways we sometimes don't expect. I really believe that. My heart is with you because heading to MI has to be a tough decision.
Was just thinking of you and came looking to see if there was any good news. You are doing the right thing for your family and if this is what it takes then you have to do it. Ireland is in the middle of the deepest recession in history with many many people out of work. Lots of real hardship and worse. One thing I have noticed as I am in business is that it is the women who are succeeding in moving forward, either by getting new work or starting up businesses. I wish you all the very best and will hopefully be seeing you later in 2013. Keep us posted. You have all of our support, prayers and love
Thank you for the update, Jane. I am so sorry to hear that there hasn't been a great offer to encourage you two yet. I will keep praying. I am sure the decision to move back to MI is a difficult one and pray that God leads you both to just the right options. Praying God sustains and strengthens you on the way.
You are all the best and I just ask for those prayers because I know that God is listening. My dh has spent his entire life as an executive - in the appliance industry. Not that he couldn't switch to a different product but those Sr. VP or CEO jobs are in scarce supply right now.
Please just say a prayer - our money situation is fine - really we've been lucky in that area!! My biggest issue is the stress that living in limbo causes. So I will try to go back to work to give my life a feeling of control. I need the structure . I could look for work in FL but with a wedding in MI this summer it is best that I go back near my friends and family and be there for all the wedding stuff.
Actually I would work for free as it is really the insurance that has me worried. Cobra runs out at some point and I have a birth defect - a bi-cuspid aortic heart valve. Might never need treatment but it makes me unable to purchase insurance privately.
Dh and the boys will join me in the spring. Maybe by then he'll have something - that is my hope. I cherish all of you for your prayer and concern - it means so much!!!!
Jane -- Not sure where I've been but I'm just now seeing this conversation. I certainly will keep you on my prayer list and hope that something positive comes along for the both of you real soon!
I am praying for the best for you two and family. It may not be a job. We are probably facing the same situation by the end of this month. But we are prepared financially, so it should not be detrimental to us. I try to remember when I am asking God for something to say :this or better. and I try to be careful what I ask for. I mostly just say the "Our Father"; as Jesus taught us. HIS will be done. And remember that you are HIS Child and HE always takes care of HIS children.
Update 2 days ago - Could we ask for some extra prayer? DH is flying to Houston on 3/22 for an interview!!!! It is kinda a long shot but we would be so grateful for anything! Thanks.
Update #2 - WOW - what is going on down in Texas? Husband had a headhunter call yesterday about a position in Plano (Dallas)! EITHER of these jobs would be a God send - hey wait - with the added bonus that Doris (Knox/Flash) lives in Texas - LOL.
Seriously if you could pray for us I would be so grateful - I know that God is listening and will provide us the right opportunity!
I'm praying, Jane.....
Fingers crossed and prayers are being sent for you! Sure hope that one of these things works out.
Jane, I won't stop praying until he gets one of those jobs!! We miss you on DK!
I hope one of them works out!
