Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I would say it's about 40% "sheepdog" and 40% "Wheaten". The other 20% varies between Poodle, Labradoodle, PWD, and other random guesses.
Ned gets mistaken for a poodle all the time. I think it is more because he is small. Clancy has been mistaken for an Otterhound.
I don't think Giant Schnauzer is such a stretch if they're used to seeing the European dogs with their ears left natural, lol:
JD most often gets mistaken for a Goldendoodle instead of a Labradoodle, because of his coloring. Many people just ask what kind of dog he is, because he doesn't look like most of the labradoodles in my area with his straight hair. But we've had a few people guess Irish Wolfhound, one Bearded Collie, one Otterhound, and one very dog-savvy person who asked if he was a Spinone, lol.
We have a friend whose brother breeds Otterhounds and she says my guys definitely look like them. We love that look so we got what we wanted with out doodle boys.
It is definitely the straighter-haired doodles that throw people off, I think.
I get Wheaten a lot also. The other is Labradoodle only because I think more people have heard of that, than heard of Goldendoodle.
You have such gorgeous pups!
Most everyone seems to recognize that Chance is a poodle mix. They just don't know what got mixed with the poodle!
A lot of people think Indy is a cockapoo. I'm not too surprised though because he really does look like one!
I must admit, I did it the other way around when I met a cockapoo last weekend (asked if he was a labradoodle). I couldn't face DK for two days! lol
