How Can We Better Help New Members?

As we get ready to implement a new series of welcoming and informative emails to new members to help guide them once they join, I'd like your input on a few things:

-- What do new members need to know?

-- What do they need to know first...what's most important?

-- What do they need to know next...and after that?

Mainly I want to get your feedback on what is most critical for new members to learn and what is important for them to learn over a period of time as they settle into DK membership.  We want to ensure they feel welcome, now how to navigate, can find answers to common questions, etc.

When we're done, anyone who wants to get what new members get will be able to sign up for the emails.

I especially like categorizing the Groups for ease of finding what you're looking for. And deleting those with few members or not use for X amount of time even. Love Karens suggestions.

My needs would be simple. I would just like to see the members categorized by their state. That would make it so much easier to find other DKers that are closest to us, so we could make contact.

Oh..... and maybe a seperate forum page, all about Laurie and ALL her swimwear attire pictures

It is easy to search under members by state but you need to look for both the abbreviation and the full state name. But seriously, no one lives up in the nort country especially as far north as Plattsburgh. Ok maybe one person does :-)

Oh F. I justLOVE the fact that you actually have a clue where I'm snowbound nestled ! I'm thinking that it wasn't a typo either when you spelled Nort Country instead of North ? You even speak the lingo !

As for looking for the abbreviations, and state names, I get distracted as I'm looking through the sea of states. I just want to find my state, and hopefully find someone.... anyone nearby. I'm thinking I'm going to have to move to California where the doodles are always romping !

  GROUPS!!  How to start a group, etc.  I was, and still am confused about the whole thing.  Really i have no idea how to start one. and believe me, I've tried.

  Well i looked at the help section and found the how to upload a group.  Unfortunately,  it said page not found.  I clicked on the link that said groups, and it took me to where the groups are listed.  i have been wanting to upload one for all the doodle owners from Idaho and Washington.
