They have something else in common, Sue, they are both adorable. And JD used to live in AZ!
And we love you too, Doris!
Camus loves to play with other dogs no matter their size. He seems to be able to adjust his play mode to the other dog. Some times it is rough and tumble and sometimes it is lying on the ground and letting a 3 month old puppy climb all over him. I love to watch him play with puppies, he is so gentle.
Tara is the best kisser on the planet! LOL She loves to give kisses and if you ask her for a kiss she will give you one. I know some people don't like to be kissed by their dogs but I love it!
One of her self taught and strange talents is that she can hold a large stuffy in her mouth and bark at the same time without dropping it. Do other doodles to this? I always get a good laugh when she starts stuffy barking!
Tara really wants to please us and tries her best to be a "good girl" and understand what we want from her. She loves being told that she is a "good girl" and gets all wiggly when you tell her so. And the truth is she really is a good girl. She doesn't get into the trash or destroy or steal anything. She will walk right past socks or bits of paper on the floor. She is just a really easy dog.
And she is really good at being stinkin' cute!!!
Trixie is very Easy Going & laid back (sometimes Id say lazy ; o) ...She has been pretty mellow since the day we got her.
She does not get into trouble in the yard! I love that. No Digging, No eating stuff (like twigs, plants, rabbit turds, grass, dirt & roots! I went through 30 years of that previously)...She is usually sitting under the tree waiting for Her Squirrels....And that is her next trait....
Patience! She has sat under Her Squirrel tree for hours waiting for them...to forget she is there & run on by.
She is so Patient with me...And me dressing her up...And me putting clips in her hair...And when I comb her out.
She is also Fantastic at being Adorable! And making me laugh often
I have to say I LOVE this post. The responses really show everyone loves their doodles so much! So fun to brag about our babies to someone who will listen!
Bexter - He is extremely loyal - ALWAYS with me (mommy's boy and I love it!). He catches a ball in the air or on a bounce and returns it to my hand or lap perfectly every time. He goes to his crate IMMEDIATELY upon command no matter where he is or what he is doing. (My son actually mentioned one time that he thought if Bexter ever got "loose" that we could yell to go to his crate & he thinks it would save his life...Great idea, but not testing it!) He is the best snuggler in the world.
Maggie - She is the best behaved dog I have ever known in my life. She sounds like Darwin! She is awesome with everybody. Funny how I almost didn't decide on her because she was TOO CALM. I thought that she might not be a good fit because Bexter is so happy and more energetic. They balance each other out perfectly. Oh yeah - Maggie can eat a bowl of food REALLY FAST.
Riley is brilliant at flying through the air, he can leap from one couch to the other which gives real meaning to the words 'couch surfing" Boris does mummy cuddles beautifully and snuggles close in the bed every morning, Riley's style is more 'lie on top' and hug. They are both experts at turning my garden into the perfect venue for a mud wrestling competition and have perfected the art of getting dirty in a matter of seconds on the pretext of needing to go out for some urgent business. The list of their talents is pretty much the same as the list of their least favorable attributes LOL
I love the responses too and the love that everyone has for their doodles!
Jack is very tuned in to me. I can have a conversation and I swear he knows every word, he looks in my eyes to read me, he follows my body language. I will see him head to the door and wait even before I've told him we're going out, he picks up on it. He lays so that he can see me and moves when I do. He's my boy.
Jilly has got to be the happiest little puppy I've ever seen. Her entire body wiggles with delight and her tail smacks into each side of her body when she wags it, which is always. She is exuberant and everything is done with gusto! She loves life and is a delight!
Wally is great at playing hide-and-go-seek! He totally understands how the game is played, and it's really fun to watch him when it's his turn to hide. He hasn't figured out yet that I am able to see where he's going!
Also, he has a completely reliable down-stay. If I tell him to lay down and stay, he will not budge until given permission to get up and move.
This is how it started: One day, I took one of Wally's toys and ran away to hide with it, while he was watching. He searched until he found me. When I gave the toy back to him, he then ran away. When I "found" him, he released the toy and then I proceeded to run and hide. He loves this game so much that he often initiates it by bringing a toy over to me and then turning around immediately and running with it in the opposite direction. He will go into another room or even behind a door. I don't know who's entertained more -- him or me!
