So for the second time in just about a year, I have a new fashion accessory. A walking cast. Last year I had a stress fracture in my left foot. Took 6+ months to heal, almost all of that time in a walking cast. Fast forward to today, my foot had been bothering me for about 5-6 days and while at the gym I couldn't take it anymore, it swelled up and I decided to get it looked at before it got too bad.
Off to the ER I went, got it looked at and yep, pretty sure it's another stress fracture, on my RIGHT foot this time... my DRIVING foot. JOYGASM. Going to see the same Ortho I saw last year and we will see what to do this time.
Got home, to take the dogs out and Teddy immediately attacked the boot. It's crazy how he's attacking it.
Anyone else have their doodle attack something like this?

I had a dog attack an arm cast once--didn't like it much...
Sorry to hear about your new fashion accessory! :( Maybe Teddy thinks it is attacking YOU and is trying to protect you from it! Tara isn't much of an attacker. In fact, I imagine I would have just the opposite problem and she would be afraid to approach me.
Oooh it looks like the Star Wars, C3PO robot model ! Good thing for you it is more plastic then fabric. Maybe it's that new plastic smell that is winding Teddy up ? Hope he calms down soon, I'm sure fighting him off will get tiring after awhile. Thinking happy thoughts for you !
I am so sorry you are injured. Silly Teddy! My son just broke his hand and had surgery. It is wrapped up like a boxing glove and the dogs were interested in sniffing it, but luckily, no attacks.
Ouch Nancy, that must have been a pretty bad break ! Hope he heals quickly.
ouch on the surgery, hope he heals fast. And thanks. He is silly, he needs to stop attacking as he also jumps on it now, and that hurts a lot
Yikes! Sorry to hear that.
My husband is recovering from a broken knee from last summer. Our neighbor's dog, a 55lb boxer, ran full speed chasing after Willow and hit his knee. It required a surgery to put a metal plate and nails and to rebuild the knee. He was not allowed to put any weight on that leg for two months, and now 6 months later, he's almost back to normal but still limping a little. What a pain! Meanwhile, we were pleasantly surprised that Willow knew how to behave around daddy. No jumping, keeping a good distance so that he could maneuver crutches, etc. She used to gently put her head on his chest while he was drugged and bedridden as if she knew what was going on.
I wish you a quick and uneventful recovery.
I had Lasik eye surgery last week and had to wear plastic eye shields for the first 4 nights. Cubbie growled at me and barked the first 2 nights and Ollie ran away from me the first 3 nights. I think they get used to seeing you a certain way and then when you are wearing something big and weird it kinda freaks them out.
I can really sympathize with you! Two years ago, I broke my right ankle and was in a boot for six weeks. Even though it was a removable boot (so I could shower, thank God), I wasn't allowed to put any weight on it. Crutches and a knee scooter got me around. No driving, so I was at the mercy of my husband, daughter, or friends. Sedona was mildly interested in the crutches and scooter at first, but ignored them for the most part.
Heal well and quickly!!!
