This 10 month old VERY CUTE red girl looks like a doodle but is listed as a Poodle/Irish Terrier she is at the Devore Animal Shelter in San Bernardino, CA. They appear to be a high kill shelter!

Anyone in CA looking for a doodle (or can help)? I wish I could do something but I live in Seattle! I will help in any way that I can!

Update: Thank you to everyone who came forward to help this little girl! However, she was adopted last night (one less night she had to spend outdoors)! Yay! :)

I just have to say once again - Doodle Families Rock!

I tried to explain to someone who doesn't have a dog but loves my 3. Now that she has spent time with them she gets it! Guess it is the doodles that bring out the best in us!

So true! It's heart warming to see so many get together to help a little doodle in need! And thank you for all that you do with the DRC for others out there in need of homes! :)

Just called- she was adopted yesterday. I didnt ask for more information tho... Should I have?

I just got of the phone with them too! I was so happty I didn't ask for any other information either!

Yay! Hope she's in a loving & warm happy home :)

I have no idea how shelters like that screen their families, hopefully she got a good one! I was so upset about a little baby girl outside!

Yea outdoors is not ideal but I remember the Pasadena humane society was partially outdoors too but they are a really really nice facility! The dogs had an indoor area within the cages (like a sectioned off dog house) where they would be able to go in for shelter. Wouldn't think Devore is as nice as Pasadena tho. I guess outdoor shelters are more common in ca. It doesn't get that cold but I personally think it's so cold at night.

This is a really, really bad place. Read some of the links I provided above. There are two FB pages dedicated to reforming what goes on there.

There is no screening. It's first come first served. She isn't spayed, either. I am trying to think positively, but in this type of situation, there's a chance that any dog who is adopted out could end up as a breeding dog for some BYB. I'm hoping that's not the case and she got a good home.

I thought shelters are supposed to spay and neuter before an animal can leave their facilities.
Oh gosh now I'm sad again.

and I am nauseous! Paws crossed that she actually went somewhere that she will be treasured as a bed hog!

I am going to just imagine her in a warm home with a nice yard.
