Baker was 3 when Oskar joined us & it's been great fun every day.  Attached is a photo of the first day when Oskar took Baker's leash in his mouth & took Baker for a walk...they have been best friends ever since.  Baker tolerates all the antics of a puppy...the toy stealing, the tail biting, standing on his head & body in the car, all of it.

Baker enjoys other dogs so much we just knew it would work out...& we are constantly laughing at them & just love having 2 doodles.

The only con I can think of is the expense...lots of food & grooming...we took out pet insurance because it was getting so expensive in the beginning but I think they're worth every penny & then some :)

This pic is adorable!

Omd I love this picture! When we first got Ben , Zoe would take his leash and drag him around everywhere!!! It was hilarious but we couldn't so the leash thing and keep him next to us because of her. She's such a jerk sometimes lol!

Thank You Diane, They are "PRECIOUS"

How much do you know about the 11 mo old male?  You said you would be adopting him so is it from a rescue or a rehome situation?  Is he crate trained, leash trained, house trained, etc?  Does he have any behavioral issues or health problems?  The answers to those questions can make a difference in how easy or difficult it could be.

I am one of those who loves having two, but would have been fine with just one if my DH Didn't steal my first away from me and make him HIS dog instead of mine!!! I had to get a second one for ME! Murphy and DH carry on so when they see each other at night that I've started yelling at him "!GET A ROOM YOU TWO LOVE BIRDS! " it's embarrassing!

We got a second for several reasons, one being the above mentioned, two being Murphy had/has horrible separation anxiety, and we do work so he'd be alone a lot and three, they are just so fun to watch together.
But it is twice as much EVERYTHING! So take the time, effort, grooming, $$$, food, toys, training, mess, clean-up, giggles, petting, playtime, loving you do with Ellie and multiply it times 2.
So the question is what are your reasons for getting a second ?
I was again reminded of my "why" last night when Bella laid on the couch next to me on her back getting a belly rub and Murphy laid down by DH's chair getting ear rubs all evening as we watched a movie. So that is why we got a second.
Emily, so glad you understand. When getting my second one the first thing I asked for from the breeder is to make sure she was a cuddlier! I needed my cuddle time and sure wasn't getting it from Murphy as long as DH was around! Mine are 18 months apart and that worked out well for training and calming down purposes as Murphy did mellow out more after 1 yr old. It really is pretty amazing and I wish I could spend all day everyday with them .

maybe you should keep bacon in your pockets!

Love it Sue!!!!

This is funny.  My SIL wanted a little Maltese and my Brother was totally opposed to getting another dog after they lost their Min Pin.  My Brother has for years wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail.  So, in order to get my SIL to agree to let him go he agreed to the little Maltese so that my SIL would have Company while he was gone.  Wouldn't you know that little white piece of fluff is a total Daddies girl!  If my Brother is home she won't have anything to do with my SIL.  They live on a farm and my Brother takes her for a ride every night on the 4 wheeler back to the woods to check on all the animals etc.  She knows when he pulls up to the house it is time to go and she gets all excited.  She always sits with him in his Chair.  Told my SIL she needs to get another one so she will have one too!

Amy, ALL of the above!!! Crate, leash, and house trained. It is my neighbors niece. She has to relocate and cannot keep him where she will be staying. My neighbor has two dogs, one is a Goldendoodle. Otherwise she would have taken him.No health problems. I would of course have him checked by my vet if it seems like he's a good fit.

That is good that you at least know about his past.  Has Ellie had a chance to meet him yet?
