first had Shea,a male,he needed someone to play with when I wasn;t home during nthe day. I got Mya,a smaller female. They loved each other. It seemed as though Shea trained Mya. Shea has always used bells to tell me he had to go out,she started using bells, never having an accident in the house. Shea taught her all the rules of the house. NEVER had any fights. Then I adopted another female Goldendoodle .She was a rescue and scared of everthing my my two doodles taught her the house rules and they ALL get along great. Theres some active playing in the back yard and that wears them out for the inside of the house.Get another Doodle. You won't be sorry!!!!!!! Adopt one ....
That is great that your group gets along, but there is no guarantee that would be the case. A quick search through the multiple doodle owners group and one can see that it is common to have issues. I don't wish that on anyone and truly hope that every person who brings a second or third dog into their home has a smooth and happy transition, but there is always the chance that there could be problems.
To those of you that replied, I attached a link of the puppies pic for you All to see....He is Very CUTE!!!! :) (Link is attached to Discussion Topic)
I looked at the picture. What an adorable doodle! How could you resist?
He's very cute!!
We've had Jilly for about 6 weeks now and we say every day that it couldn't have gone any smoother. I was very anxious about rocking Jack's world with bringing in another, he is a gentle soul and it had to be the right match. It has worked out so well. They love playing and just being with each other. I agree with the others that there's another set of muddy paws to clean and my backyard is torn up a bit with them running around, but we feel it is so much easier! They entertain each other where before, we were Jack's entertainment. We' are thrilled with the way it all worked out!
Good luck to you!
Yes Sue, Ellie is about 73lbs. and the puppy is 11 months and 65lbs. I know Ellie really didn't finish filling out until she was 2. He still has a lot of filling out and maturing to do. He still has that puppy look!! We are going to keep him on a week trial basis. The owner also wants to make sure that he is a good fit.
