Hello DK! Just wanted to give you a quick update on my baby.
3 days and $1800 later, they diagnosed her with gastroenteritis. I must say that I am not happy with the bill and the girls that did not update me every time I called. I was happy Zoe was able to come last night but wish I would've brought her back sooner :(

As soon as she came home she went poop and it wasn't as watery or bloody as before but still really soft and spots of red and orange. Afterwards I tried to give her some chicken and guess what? She gobbled it all up! :). She's still eating grass and very lethargic but I think she will be better in a couple of days. They gave us panacur and the dr explained they use it in small amounts for anti diarrhea.

She was so exhausted last night and still this morning. I'm pretty sure being in the hospital in a cage for 3 days will exhaust you. Made me think how stressed out and sad all the shelter dogs are...
Anyways I hear her stomach rumbling but not sure if its from hunger or her diarrhea. Going to boil more chicken. Thank you all so much for all the helpful information and support! Happy weekend everyone!

So glad she is back home!!! This is the best place for her.... Hoping she continues to improve and is back to her regular doodle self real soon.
I am so glad you have Zoe home. It is such a relief and now you can watch her get well.

Glad she is home and doing better, poor  hungry baby.

I never heard of panacur being used for anything but worms or parasites before. I will be interested to hear what the others have to say.

Sorry about that huge bill, I take it no insurance?

So happy that you have Zoe home and she is eating!

Good news!

That's great news --not about the bill but that she's home and going to be fine!  You have a wonderful weekend too!

I'm glad she's home, and I hope she gets well soon.

Keep on healing, Zoe.  So glad you are finally home again.

Im so glad she is home & feeling a bit better.  Im sure she will be a little tired for awhile...Just to de-stress- dogs seem to like to relax & sleep- they feel so much better being home with you.

The bills are never fun : (

If it were me I would try to not let her eat grass right now...Take her out on a leash maybe.  it might keep her stomach upset.

Oh I didn't know that grass could upset her stomch more. Ok I will do that thanks Pam!

I dont know that the grass will upset her stomach...but it might.
I assume they want her on a bland diet for a few days.

Thats nice that you have insurance

You're right, Pam. Grass is definitely not easy on their GI tracts.
