Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi Everyone, I thought it would be interesting to show the various coat changes in our F1 Doodles. State the type of Doodle, the age and add the pics. I think it would be fun so see all the differences.

This is Jasper at 8 weeks. Mom was a standard chocolate poodle and dad was a golden retriever.

This is Jasper at 7 months.

This is Belle 1 week old. Same parents, different litter.

Belle 7 months.

Belle 1 year and Jasper 8 months. Jasper obviously had the greatest coat change. He was born solid black and has now changed to silver. He has the softer coat and sheds less than Belle does. Belle has a more coarse coat with tighter churl, but it took a long time for her to get any curl?wave at all. Mostly I find a few dog hair puff balls around the house and where they sleep. No hair comes off when they are just petted, unlike my lab who you just have to look at and the hair falls off :) .

Both beautiful doodles.  I think it's fun to watch the color changes when a doodle has that gene.

They're very cute- wow- big changes in their color alright! My doodle is only 9 weeks old now and still black.... will be interesting to see his changes.

Penny gets groomed every 6-8 weeks. We found an amazing groomer who understands our love of the shaggy look. We found that her coat's getting curlier and curlier as it grows out, but I don't know if it's reflected in her pictures because of how long we've kept her hair.

Penny at 4 months, giving up during her walk!

Penny at 5 Months

Penny at 6-7 months after I had taken her home from the vet. Poor girl.

Penny at 8-9 months (her face wasn't blow dried because she is hates the drier - note the haughty expression)

Penny at 9-10 months

Penny at couple of days ago - she just loves sitting on the window sill, despite the fact that it's only 6 inches wide.

Penny is beautiful, she looks like she has a really nice coat.  Does she shed?  Both of mine do some.

Why thank you! Yup. When we first got her, not so much, but these days, she's been shedding quite a bit. We think she'll be going through a coat change soon.

She looks a lot like my Sadie, who is my F1 doodle.  It looks like they have the same type of coat.  You can see Sadie's changes on here or on my page if you want to compare.... shed or not they are keepers lol

Does Penny have really long lashes?  It looks like she does in that picture after her bath.  Sadie has really long eye lashes.

YES, exceptionally long. Love it. We have our groomer trim em down every now and then because they sometimes get stuck together.

I hope Penny keeps her Shaggy coat and looks like Sadie! Though I can tell that the coat type is different. We had a doodle playdate with an F1 doodle names Oliver who had the same exact coat that Sadie looks like she has. Penny has a cotton kind of texture coat while Oliver had a stringy, silky touch to it.

WOW!!!!  What a coat!

Here is Stanlee from around sixteen weeks to one year.  He's gone from scruffy to having the need of a Donald Trump comb over.  His facial hair is long but his body isn't. What a goofball he is, on the inside AND the outside!

This is my goldendoodle Willow. I love how her coat is turning out! I was looking back at pictures and I found I hardly have any of her when we first got her! Just a couple terrible quality one's off my iPod.

Here she is at 8 weeks (poor quality)

And here she is at 14 weeks

And here she is today at 7 months, finally getting some facial hair going!

Also 7 months..
