A good sit stay is you best friend.  Gavin knows "towel".  When he comes in he gets the towel command and he lays down there until told differently.  Like the warm towel idea by Donna.  We do the paw dunks in a warm pail of water.

Looks like the abdominal snow dog!

Ha ha!

I do the best I can with a towel. Right now I have some wet patches on my bed. Good for the indoor humidity. Sometimes I'll crate the dogs till they melt a bit.

We never really try to dry Oliver off.  Mainly because it rarely ever snows here in Lewiston, and when it rains, Oliver's too chicken to go outside.

I line the path from the back door to their room with rugs.  They come in and go to their room where I have a huge thick comforter laid out on the floor and they stay there until they have melted.  If they have any big snowballs on their feet then I will dunk those in some luke warm water like others have said.  My girls love the snow though so they constantly want out in it.   My house usually looks like a disaster zone when there is snow outside with all the extra rugs laid down etc.

Dunk (warm water) and dry (towels)! We even take 2 gallons of hot water in the thermal pack to the park, by the time we are done it's just warm, dunk and dry there as well.

I wrap them in towels and put them in a "down stay" at least until the "snowballs" melt.

I use towels and a blow dryer too, if there are millions of them like after the big storm we had yesterday !

I just did this! I put towels on the floor and put a few in the dryer so they are just getting warm, not hot! I rub them all over with the warm towels and they stay as long as I keep it up, so I think they like it!
