My vet said NOT until at least One Year!!! Lots of walks Only!!

My Vet also said one year.

I would avoid jogging continuously with a dog until 18 months.  It can do damage to their joints.  While 1 mile is not long, a slow mile might as well be walked.  In other words, if you are truly going 'slow' then walking it will be just as good.

I agree Adina.....That's what I did with Ellie when she was a Pup!!! Not worth the Risk!!

thanks much for your replies...Maybe I need to check with my vet...he doesn't even look like he is running haha...But the last 1/4 mile he puts the leash in his mouth and takes off..like hes heading for the barn...

No jogging until 1 year was the advice from both my breeder and vet. It is great fun to run with your doodle... But wait until he is fully grown so as to not do any damage.... Then you will be able to run together for years to come!!!!

We were also told no running any distance until at least a year.  My advise (novice that I am) is to teach your pooch to walk by your side concentrating on you  and not be distracted by other dogs etc, (and good luck with that) with nice long, walks.  I really think that the adage:  Learn to walk before you run, holds true with a puppy!
