I went to PetValu to buy kitty litter and there was a 3 year old cat from the humane society there begging to be taken home. She was so pretty and affectionate and playful and my Kitty would have just loved her.

It would be completely irresponsible and impulsive for me to get another cat. I can't afford anymore pets, not to mention the fact that I am turning into a crazy animal lady. The pet store clerks reminded me that we are alowed 5 per household in this city. grrrrrr.

I need to be talked down fast! let me hear your best "no-more-kitties" argument!

I say that Kitty needs a friend - go for it.....  Wait I forgot your allergies.  I wouldn't do it.  We used to be cat people until two of our three children were allergy tested and allergic to cats (among other things) so once the cats passed away, we became catless forever.  Now that I am not near cats, I have allergic reactions to them.....

I'm not allergic to cats, it's just that cat dander is said to be bad for asthmatics. My asthma triggers are more bitter cold dry air and exercise. Winston, on the other hand, is allergic to cats, among so many other things.

my mum has allergies to cats and dogs ( but not cooper ). we always had a cat growing up and she was fine, it wasnt til she didnt have her own cat and the neighbour cat visited that it really staerted affecting her.

as for the litter box, i have 3 cats, 2 older ones and a younger one, they all use the same litter box. yes we change it twice as often now we have the 3rd cat, but its not a big deal. i also find that the cats are much cheaper - they dont get vacinated as they dont go outside, they dont need destroyed toys, leashes etc replacing and a little cat doesnt eat much.  sometimes an animal speaks to you, like my legolas did to me. get the kitty!!!!

She really did speak to me. I go to Pet Valu all the time and there are always cats there, and petsmart too, but none have ever spoken to me before. It's tough resisting but she's a great cat and she will find an awesome home. I bet she will be gone the next time I go.

I say HOLD ON here! Asthma, allergies... What if one more kitty tips the balance and you become more reactive? As for Kitty loving another kitty? I've found that theory works better for dogs than cats. My two only became uneasy after Finnegan moved in. The peaceable kingdom...NOT SO MUCH! Be ready for crazy :) I'd say asthma and the potential medical costs would make me help this sweet kitty find a home...then I'd go have a glass of wine!
